Net Provider

Post by TheDefend »

what internet provider did you all use in there? please tell me the monthly cost

my net is a sucker that called speedy and only up to 100 kbps

for the last whole week i got my net over quota.... limited to 3 GB only and i overuse it to 4 GB and weirdly it only cause 700.000 Rupiah (for us application divide it by 9000) i thought it should be 800.000 - 900.000
every MB cost 500

it's a real sucker

Lame connection, very pricey.

The upside it has is slightly better DL speed from provider in Indonesia..
Indonesia has the lamest internet connection, what about you outside Indonesia?

I use Shaw.
shaw wrote:Get a complimentary modem and pay nothing for your first 30 days of Shaw High-Speed Internet Service and then pay only $29.95 per month for the next six months.

# 5 Mb download speed
# 512 Kb upload speed
# 60 GB/month data transfer
# 10 personal email accounts
Note that it goes up to $35 after 6 months and I don't get anything close to 5Mb. Though there is a $5 discount every month if you buy a modem.

But then in Canada, the fastest internet (provided by Shaw) here costs $100, and you can't expect shaw to have great speed.

All hail to Malaysian download speed of 0.8kb/s!

We only have ONE internet service provider! Eat that bitchazzzz.

I think Shaw is still better than Telus though. Telus doesn't even reach 2mb download speeds (5mb download speed package), and costs more than Shaw.

We have TM Nut Slowmyx here in Malaysia, which basically costs a lot and does crap, but you can't really complain about it since it's the only damn ISP here with broadband... Malaysia's only Broadband provider is listed in the Azureus wiki as a bad one...

For RM 66 (about US$ 20) you can have 500 Kbps surfing speeds, <30 (40 if you're lucky) Kbps download speeds and torrent throttling.

Yup, gotta love Slowmyx...

Hmm . . . Can't you get around torrent throttling?

You can get around it a bit with encryption but it's not like it'll completely get around it.

I have 1 Mbit download for about $40 per month, but in Russia, costs really vary depending on the regions. Also, there's local network with peer-to-peer and ftp without speed limit.

US is so spoiled...

The best in Indonesia I have ever had is only 40kb/s download...

My friend just got back from America and said that DL anime there doesn't have to wait 1/2 days like in Indo...

Sweden & South Korea, where minimum speed is 100 Mbits/Sec with Symmetrical Ratio.

Yay for Swedish Bittorrent & South Korean online sport domination!

;)

It's good when you live here ;)

100 Mbit/s both directions. I have a local ISP called Teknikbyrån. Basicly, it means "the technological bureau". Sounds alot more evil in english though...
