This argument has only become viable in the past couple decades because the other side of the argument (which used to be the majority) would not conduct actual surveys and tests without bias to find proof that their side was correct. In almost every case where the surveys or tests were conducted with completely unbiased and professional staff, the argument that introducing pornography decreases sex-related crimes is proven time and time again.

The idea that looking at images or pictures of pornography will predispose you to rape and other sexual crimes is ludicrous and is akin to certain ignorant and stupid ways of thinking back in the middle ages.

basically the porn will help those animals relieve their desires whereas they will cause ignorant babies to feel curious and attempt some things. Pros and cons, just accept it already. There is no way porn will get removed from the world, so now is the issue of manga and animes.

Sad that that's how things are viewed here. In a country where swimsuit anime figurines are confiscated for "inducing erotic thoughts and ideas" and rape victims are told that they "shouldn't dress too skimpily" (there was this once where a security guard was caught using a security camera to zoom-in to a reporter's skirt; no action was taken because "the journalist should have known better to wear a skirt - its her fault that she "provoked" the guard into doing it. And no, I'm not making this up. Seriously.), that pretty much is the case. Police have the right to confiscate your cell phone, memory card, thumbdrive etc if they find ANY pornography it in, regardless of how old you are, and how old the people in question are.

Some states even have separate check out counters for men and women, separate swimming pools, and recently Yoga was banned since "it stems from Hinduism - True Muslims should only practice Islam"

And how many people did they inteview that had been caught already for rape and such? If people use that material for a long time, they tend to get tired of it - they need a new turn on. They end up going after real girls.

Yes, because I'm sure that just because porn gets slightly boring, I should just go rape somebody to make it interesting again instead of simply just watching more porn, better porn, or *gasp* getting a girlfriend (or boyfriend if you're female or swing that way).

Actually, they say that rape/sex-related crimes tend to happen with people you know much more often than with a complete stranger. It only has been skewed that way because of the news, or so I have heard. However, I am not an expert on these matters nor do I want to be. So, I do not know if it is necessarily socially-related as much as the few people who act as outliers.

That makes perfect sense, if you read h-mangas at all, you will come across stories where the main protaganist has an unusually strong attraction to their counterpart. Then some random event occurs where the protaganist's counterpart is put in a compromising situation, and the main protaganist's feelings overwhelm his inhibitions and proceeds to bone his counterpart. Now in some of these h-mangas, the protaganist actually rapes their counterpart but it somehow turns into mutual love (never understood that, but i digress), or the counterpart says yes before the protaganist does the deed, or the protaganist regains their senses before doing it, but their counterpart says do it anyway, etcetera, etcetera.

Anyways, this all illustrates two basic ideas that are part of a larger concept, interpersonal attraction, in social psychology. One is called the Proximity Effect, which is defined as how physical proximity increases attraction, as opposed to long distance relationships which are more at risk. Also there is the Familiarity Effect, where mere exposure to others increases attraction, even when the exposure is not consciously realized. Combining these two elements drastically increases the chances that a rape victim will be somebody that the rapist knows, and lives close to; and in fact the police use this to their advantage when looking for a rapist.

It is interesting how the human brain's behavior defines our interactions between others and our inter-relationships.

What I meant about this was that society causes people who are more genetically inclined to be depressed or angy or violent or sexually deviant to be pushed over the edge. I mean, life isn't exactly pretty, and there are certainly people, situations, and events that can push someone past the threshold of inhibition (which is a norm established by society itself, but yet again I digress) and into the act of pursuing baser instincts. While I do not necessarily blame society as a whole or completely for causing this to happen, after taking social psychology for a semester, I can definitely see why society increases the likelihood of sex-related crimes to occur. Especially considering the ambiguities and double standards that happen between certain groups of people in society.
