Interesting Alexa Statistic

Post by typhonsentra »

Just fooling around looking at the site breakdown earlier today, I decided to check out the breakdown by country:
United States 25.5%
Indonesia 20.9%
Canada 6.9%
Mexico 6.1%
Thailand 5.3%
Australia 5.2%
Malaysia 3.7%
Singapore 3.2%
Philippines 3.0%
Venezuela 2.7%
Argentina 2.1%
United Kingdom 1.8%
France 1.6%
Japan 1.5%
Italy 1.4%
Brazil 1.3%
El Salvador 0.7%
Poland 0.7%
Russia 0.7%
Peru 0.6%
Other countries 5.1%
Is this for real? Indonesians almost make up the majority of the visits to this site? Also, look how few British there are over here, even Venezuela which has a much smaller population outranks it. What makes it even more surprising is that this is mainly (Key word mainly) an English-language site. I knew a large portion of the community is based in Southeast Asia but I had no clue how large the cut was.

Wow, that is suprising. But now that I think about it, they probably are more likely to speak Englsih than Japanese and being in their location are sure to know about Japanese series and such. But who here is from Indonesia?

Beats me. I suspect that apart from the Indonesian translators/editors for SHnY novels, their fellow countrymen might be dropping it for visits to read the novels done by their fellow countrymen. And there's somehow a LOT of them :O

Just a theory.

Well, I'm as good as one...at least currently. 8)

So I guess we make up most of the 1.8% then. :?

My belief would be that they are generally more aware of the culture than the rest of the countries but lack the actual market.

Would be interesting to see if one is right or not.
