All depends on when you sleep....the only rule about that I can come up with is don't eat about 2 hours before bedtime, and if you get hungry eat really light. (Like a banana or a slice of bread)

Bananas are one of the hardest foods to digest. I would not recommend eating them anytime even close to when you sleep.

Yes. The way it works is, if your body can't break the starches and glucoses correctly they become fat, and while you sleep less blood pools in your stomach which hinders your digestion. The reason your digestion slows down more when you sleep is because there is less blood around your stomach and more towards your head. Another food that is really hard to digest is peanut butter, try to avoid that around the time you sleep as well.

I eat it for running in the morning. I eat a banana and have a protein shake or bar after my night workout for the morning.

Bananas help you sleep, though, and can't hurt you overall. (I mean, to get the nutrients in it, breakfast is best, but a banana is good for you anytime.)

I've been trying to think of a good workout plan to keep my body in more of a shock mode, currently the best I've come up with is:
M.W.F: 1 hour at 5mph. 30 minutes to 1 hour of stairs at 4-6mph. Weightlift (squats, deadweights, freeweight stuff.)
T.TH: at least 3 miles at ~6.5. an hour of stairs at 6mph. recover.

My morning always consists of 3 miles at 5.5-6.5mph and 30 minutes of stairs. That I will not change.

Pushups / situps / planks I do after every workout no matter what.

Really, I'm just thinking my body has gotten far to used to my usual routine of carido morning and weightlifting nights. I really just need to introduce it to some shock. I ran 5 miles today after eating nothing for 24 hours....my body is just that used to doing it. :?

Lol. How do you figure bananas help you sleep. You can argue things like turkey help you sleep because they have melatonin in them, but that's also sketchy at best.
I'd have to say eating a banana is about as much help towards sleeping as a bag a potato chips is.

It's a .com website so it has a lot of commercial use, can't just take everything at face value. Also over half of it's sources are .com sites.

http://www.cracked.com/article/127_5-wa ... esomeness/

This site has resources and cool medical stuff and it's a .com
Doing these things sound like fun but I probably won't try them.

... Ok I lied, I tried he Uberman Sleep Schedule. but after a few months I think my brain started hemorrhaging so I stopped.

Regardless I'm sure that site holds as much validity as another site, you just have to take it with a grain of salt.

It was more about making a point than the actual information. I could have linked almost any site and made the same argument.

Well, yeah, but that's getting to the "Facts aren't facts, they are simply widely accepted opinions" -type argument.

I guess we could start arguing half lives and rate of reaction for bananas and gastric acid verse potato/oil and gastric acid. It'd be a bit more in depth because we would also have to calculate oxidation rates based on the differences in blood pressure while you sleep apposed to when you are awake.
