I will admit that those were pretty bad, but I can also walk away from it with somewhat of a laugh. I do not know how true they, or if they were complete troll reviews. If it is the former, keep it in the closet at the very least, unless you want to be arrested, taken to a shrink, or be told how you are going to heck by some Japanese cult. If they were the latter, I would say that the humor is a little "rough" around the edges...

Yeah. Horrible.

Anyone knows about olympics where Japanese are outraged at the fact that they can't have soy sauce?

Read this, Kira :

Olympic Games + Censorship

For those who can't read French, a quick summary :

- A "private militia" is enforcing some "laws" given by the Olympic Committee.
- You can't wear clothes from a company not sponsoring the event. Promoting means banning.
- You can't bring your lunch. Either McDo or Coca-Cola is fine.
- You have to pay royalties to say/use "Olympic Games" on TV.
- Other brands than those of the sponsors are censored.
- London citizens paid for the Games but are controlled by the private militia.
- French fries are only sold in McDonalds.

BTW, I dropped a bomb on SAO's topic. Guess what it is.

That is nuts. I guess I can expect nothing less of a group of highly politicized and over-commercialized sporting events. Personally, I have never liked the Olympics to begin with. Sadly, I just keep finding more and more reasons to dislike them without even trying. For instance, something is wrong with the picture of the Olympics being held in Nazi Germany in 1938. On top of this fact, this year the Olympics Committee refused one minute of silence to remember the slaughter of Israeli athletes who were tortured, humiliated, and brutally murdered during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich by terrorists. This one minute of silence has been a tradition that has carried on for years. Only this year did the Olympics Committee refuse the victims families and the world this one minute. Something is wrong with this picture, especially when none of the other minutes of silence have been challenged like this.

Detroit Main Cafe.

I do not know what to think about this, even though I used to live only an hour from Detroit for 20 years.

Typo? Where?

I will just say that importing the concept of the maid cafe is interesting, bold, and has many cultural implications. Personally, regardless of whether it succeeds or not, the concept of the maid cafe is about as Japanese/Asian as you can get. Trying to ship it overseas to Detroit of all places is like taking King Kong off of his island and expecting him to adjust/live in prosperity and peace. I do not care who works for maid cafes racially speaking. It is just that such a thing is a niche market that speaks to a certain demographic in certain places, which is probably not most of the United States. The implementation of said maid cafe is another huge variable because the maid cafe relies on the concept of moe, which will make most Americans be like "HUH?!" Seeing moe tends to run around the idea of cute, little girls running around to serve you, it is somewhat hard to imagine this working in the Mid-West. Again, that is not a racist comment as much as a cultural one to show that the demographics and cultures do not match and rather clash in this case.

IMO, the weird thing here isn't about who works. It's more about the thought that I could walk into a maid cafe on Crescent (street in my city), which is full of bars and such, and find a maid shop with maids and moe.
