You are [not] alone
So, I thought it was about time to hear some comments on the new NGE movie, "Neon Genesis Evangelion Rebuild 1.0 You are [not] alone".
personally i think it is a great movie, really warms my heart to see NGE in a highly detailed environment, although i would strongly recommend that you have watched the original series first, as i think the movie leaves out a lot of background information that you get in the series, but all in all I'd say it's a fine piece of work, and that i can't wait for the next one to arrive

true, but then again, they tend to skip some of the background knowledge you get in the original TV series then it somehow ends up as a new movie, also, there are some new sketches in the movieb0mb3r wrote:i feel a bit weird watching it in a new quality. is like tbey kept the sketches and use todays colors over it.

Ok srsly, one line in a very unimportant part in the plot doesn't really bother me.
And well...most of the background info doesn't really start until after he meets Asuka.

Wrong on both counts. The fact that Shinji trusts his father enough to ask for his help, even once in the pit of danger, is MONUMENTALLY HUGE!!!
And there was backround information since like...episode 3, maybe earlier.

Or maybe his cry for help is just looping back to illustrating his dependant personality...it's not trust, its a reaction.
And even if it is trust, that was implied throughout the original story anyway.
Like I said, most of the background info doesn't begin until after Asuka.

Well, you can only do so much with what you have, right?
