Re: TGM's AMV of the Week
I finally found some time to put up a new AMV. Work and school are killing me.
Alright, two AMVs here that I picked mostly because of the music.
YouTube Link
The music, my god! I can't get it out of my head! This is also for all the Higurashi fans we've got in here, this is right up their alley.
Good editing done so it didn't feel like the spasm of images was overdone, plus it fit great with the music. Nice transition to the grunge side of Higurashi as well.
Overall: 8/10
YouTube Link
Brilliant! This was quite the feast for my eyes and ears. I was a BT (the artist) fan back in the day and hearing some of his music in newer AMVs is pretty cool. This is the 3rd homerun ZetZu has hit with me, and with that, he takes the #3 spot for favorite AMV director list. The excellent tweaks he put into this video all explained in his comments section and they all blend wonderfully. If only it were a bit longer, I would have happily slapped a 10 onto it.
Overall: 9/10

Comments:
A project made for SSJ3 Son Jp's YXZ Tournament, that also gave me the 1st place position.
We were given BT's "Simply Being Loved" (aka: Somnambulist) as our Music source
And i chosed to go with my newly gained EF - a Tale of Memories dvd's -hearts- as my video source.
We had 48 hours on us to make a video using the song and send it to the coordinator of the contest.
Due a very tight schedule I barely had any time to sit down and edit all that much. I mostly got down
to edit when in between and after my already planned events.
The reason we had the round at a date that was so filled for me was because we had waited for so long
and both me and my oppenent aswell as the coordinator wanted us to get this over with.
The Making
So, for the recent 4 months or so I've bearly not touched the effects field at all. So I decided to have some fun =) I listened to the song while dragging in some of my footage and looked around a bit. After some thinking of a concept i opened up Photoshop and starting to do some of the general vector masks.
Later after getting back to editing again I continued on actually building out the length of the video.
Starting to build up my story i tried to jump up one step by submitting these small segments edited with diffrent sorts of effects and styles. After another editing interuption i got back into the effect work , seeing that i was getting short on time I started to finish up and knew i wouldnt be able to fill in with more segments so i decided to do the final stage "Fusion" which is the combinition of the previous 4 styles. Finishing up with the last segments I rendered and encoded and had it sent to Son Jp.
After a couple of weeks i decided it was time to make the Full quality verision and get it uploaded on here. I'm pretty satisfied with the results, even though there is some things that could have went smoother =P
Program's Used
Sony Vegas 7.0 (for generaly the whole video)
Adobe After Effects CS3(for the 3D 'Fusion' Check-list)
Adobe Photoshop CS3(maskings etc..)
DVD decrypter
DGIndex
ViritualDubMod
Megui

Enjoy! ;]

Code Geass [Easy Action]
I enjoyed this AMV. Not much to say about it. Only using the last 2 episodes is kind of meh, but they ARE really good episodes. There really aren't too many good Geass AMVs out there.
Song: "Easy Action" - Boom Boom Satellites

That was pretty good. The ending more so than the rest of the video, though.

Found this AMV while just searching through "Girl in the Fire" videos on YouTube. Quite good IMHO, but that could be biased because I love the song and I get hard ons for awesomely animated machines

Epic is as epic does. You've got me going on AMVs again Ben. I return to AZ on Wed, I should have some up by the end of the week.
*EDIT* I felt this AMV deserved a listing like the others instead of just a youtube link.

This is a great tribute to the Gundam series. It shows some adrenaline pumping moments from awesome fights to a song that really emphasizes it. One thing I noticed was the editor left in the battle sound effects just under the music and that added a nice pinch of spice to it, making it stand out from 'just another Gundam AMV'. Those sound effects are classic, so why shouldn't an AMV reminding us of the great time's we've had with the series include them?

Re: TGM's AMV of the Week
My return post! I've built up quite the stockpile of AMVs so I don't have to worry much about finding new ones to post.
YouTube Link
First we have an AMV that really snuck up on me. I downloaded it, watched it, and approved but forgot about it. Suddenly before I knew it, the song was stuck in my head. Now I sing along with this AMV, sing the song in my shower, in my car, etc. The editing is excellent quality, but it was the music that made this AMV stick out from the crowd for me.
Overall: 8/10
YouTube Link
Second up we have a Soul Eater AMV. I really liked Death the Kid's character, and I like this song, so this AMV is awesomesauce. The editing isn't over the top and it's done nicely to keep pace with the song. It all just clicks together.

Comments in English:
Ileia//PROJECT born last year, when you look at the "Drean Space" edited by Ileia, she is one of the most renowned publishers of the community (The.org) no doubt the AMVs of Ileia show many facets of it as editor, from comedy to drama, she has explored all genres, she is a normal editor like any of us, but there is a difference, its AMV have spark, the AMVs of Ileia have something that makes them very different from others... I myself do not I can explain ... but I'm pretty sure of something, whatever it is I love it!
Toxico is the Ileia//PROJECT, inspired by many of the videos Ileia, Toxic shows the story of Jin & Nagi "a different story and a final "EPIC"
Well, the AMV is a sentimental drama, has a bit of comedy and irony (I was inspired by the Ileia AMVs)
This alternative history is the story of the love that is put on over all things, love is imposed on any condition (the condition Nagi ) We are young and we did, the love we unite blablabla (No Noise ) this story is a little more realistic, as the harsh reality is, I hope you like it.
About the visual style of the video, originally compocicion be an easy job, but I am inspired for Maria+Holic OP... to create something more advanced, this new visual style makes the story more coherent, because there are scenes that could not easily do...
Making Of
Lyrics
Proclamaste rivalidad
Y encontraste en mi
Hostilidad
Hoy ya no puedo
Creer en ti és algo tóxico
Pero borrarte de mi mente
És más dificil que vivir
Y ya no puedo resistir
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Que se secó
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Que se secó
Vuelvo a encontrarme
En el mismo lugar
Donde inició,
Con mi guitarra
Y una lágrima
Que se secó
Translation:
You proclaimed rivalry
and you found in me
hostility
Now I can no more
believe in you is something toxic
But erasing you of my mind
it's harder than living
And I can't resist
I find myself again
in the same place
where it all began
with my guitar and a tear that dried
I find myself again
in the same place
where it all began
with my guitar and a tear
I find myself again
in the same place
where it all began
with my guitar and a tear that dried
I find myself again
in the same place
where it all began
with my guitar and a tear that dried

Lyrics
Hello little boys, little toys
We’re the dreams you're believing
Crawling up the walls
Running down your face
Razor sharp, razor clean
Feel the weapon's sensation
On your back
With loaded guns
Now hold onto me pretty baby
If you want to fly
I’m gonna melt the fever sugar
Rolling back your eyes
We're gonna ride the race cars
We’re gonna dance on fire
We’re the girls Le Disko
Supersonic overdrive
So what's it gonna take
Silver shadow believer
Spock rocker with your dirty eyes
It’s a chance gonna move
Gonna poke up your ego
Silly boy gonna make you cry
Now hold onto me pretty baby
If you want to fly
I’m gonna melt the fever sugar
Rolling back your eyes
We're gonna ride the race cars
We’re gonna dance on fire

That Kannagi one was pretty good.
And How did I miss that one by Koop? I can't say the entire video was epic, but that ending will stick with me for a while. It's gonna be hard to top that kind of editing.

Multi Editor Project
This will the first MEP I'll be posting on here. These stand apart from standard AMVs for multiple reasons. They are on average 15+ minutes long, there are huge variations in the editing styles, and the music is almost always mixed together to make one continuous song. I will also be providing no Youtube links for these videos, because streaming cannot do them justice.
I'm a big fan of this one because of the music. Fadoo did an awesome job merging these tracks together into one big beat mix. I love playing this on my audio system and letting the bass blow me away. The selection for this is quite good, I found a lot of new tracks I had never heard before. This is a good starter MEP if you haven't sat through one of these before. Very entertaining and great for background noise.

Very entertaining and great for background noise.

Re: TGM's AMV of the Week
i usually don't like Multi Editor Project. why? they're long. not that long is bad. i went through all four amv hells. and yes MEP are really well edited and how the music stitch together well. my problem is my attention span towards them. they just seem dragging. i waiting for a good MEP that makes my heart pump 15 mins straight. i usually like good amvs that make me all energetic and dancing-like. hell make it later a DDR/Pump It Up song or something so i can die of cardioid arrest. no offense TGM
