Unconfirmed Haruhi Suzumiya Anime Second Season

they're finally making a series out of Munto? been looking for sometime for the OVAs, haven't been able to, but i've found as much from viewer response that i might find it interesting, so i'll keep an eye out for it.

also, wouldn't this be another first for KyoAni? i mean, they're going to release 2 series at once? After Story will be halfway through next week, disbarring any interruptions..

if the company's looking this healthy, they MIGHT just end up pulling off a tandem release of Haruhi and FMP next year sometime fall.. of course that'll be like a financial home run for them, and a long awaited grand slam for the fanbase.

the big delay in haruhi season 2 is making me read more novels, and liking haruhi less... LOLz at this rate, i may begin forgetting the story or its greatness. They should get season 2 out before all the craze over it dies off!

Remember the Season 2 promotional video released on Tanabata about Haruhi sneaking into the school and drawing lines on the school field (the one filmed with a security camera), and everyone went wild speculating that Haruhi would be released right after Lucky Star? It's been more than a year now since it was released eh?

Just get someone to make a short episode of Haruhi or so, and get half the world to agree it is season 2. Then book 10 shall be released, and then the believed season 2 shall be called season 3. Problem solved! =X The solution to this problem lies in that no one said season 2 must be official LOLz!

Something else is KyoAni has moved from 13-14 to 24-26 ep series. Air, SHnY, FMP(TSR and Fummofu), etc. were all 13-14, then from Kanon onward they have been at least 24. That makes only two series a year, which means it's more difficult to have as much variety as they had.

Having read the translations, I think the unaired stories from the first year will not be enough to fill 24 to 26 episodes... more like 18 to 20, with multi-parters for Vanishment and Schemes and one- or two-parters for the rest. So books 9 and 10 will conclude such a season 2, which probably means it has to provide a climax and a cliffhanger. That may be the main reason why book 10 is taking so long. As for why season 2 is taking so long, I guess many episodes also need some rewriting to adapt them to their new role as parts of a series rather than "standalone" stories.

Oh, and there's more than enough space to fill a 24-episode season. A lot of the short stories are pretty big, Vol 8's especially. So they don't even need to wait for Vol. 10.

They aren't replacing one with the other, so far as I have heard.

Chibi Crap is all they've been harping about since the July Newtype came out, and remember the focus of that issue was that they were "canceling" the second season and replacing it with an "all new Haruhi"?

And the simple fact that this is the December 18th announcement almost proves that they don't care about S2 anymore.
