It depends on what I'm watching. When I last marathoned Higurashi, I skipped both the OP/EDs just to know what would happen next :) (But the OP song, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, remains one of my favourite anime songs ever :D)

I just couldn't skip Dokuro-chan's OP. Must be that 'pipirupirupirupipirupi' -.-

I finally felt like typing out some reviews. This time are ones that I've been wanting to do for a while now.
Spoiler! :
Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor (Fafner of the Blue Sky: Dead Aggressor)
8/10
Genres: Drama, Mecha, Science Fiction, Shounen, Some Romance, Military

Summary from ANN: Tatsumiyajima is the central island in the middle of a small cluster of islands, in a sleepy backwater of the Japanese isles. Not much happens there, and the island's young people go to school knowing that their lives are likely to remain peaceful and undisturbed. Or so they have been taught... but the truth is different. The fate of mankind is on the line, and Tatsumiyajima is the last line of defense against a hostile and incomprehensible enemy. At the center of it all, fighting for Humanity's continued existence, is the giant robot Fafner, the dragon that guards this final treasure of mankind.

Thoughts: Hated how the characters looked in GSD? If yes, then try to hold in that hatred until you're done reading. I'm not going to give out much here since well... Fafner has everything GSD should and could have been, minus the aliens. The character development and drama are done really well. The first three episodes are enough to hook you in. The ED changes depending on what happened in the episode to give the audience the right emotion. In the end, Fafner is one of those unknown shows that people somehow manage to learn about one way or another.

Sokyuu no Fafner - Right of Left - (Fafner of the Blue Sky - Right of Left -)

9/10
Genres: More Drama, Mecha, Science Fiction, Military, Some Romance

Summary from ANN: Yumi and Kyo are children who have been selected to take part in a top secret mission, to be the pilots of the first Fafner combat units; the last chance of survival for the human race. The enemy is ruthless, remorseless and is able to read the minds of humans. Therefore, the details of this mission are kept a secret even from the personnel involved. The young pilots must use all their courage and faith in order to survive and complete their mission or the fate of mankind would be compromised.

Thoughts: Right of Left takes place before (but made after) the original and amazingly, its WAY better than Aggressor. The animation is great. The music is nice, but not great. The story and characters are done very well. It's nice to get some development for the characters that die too early in the original. The action isn't as good but the whole point isn't the giant robots killing aliens. It's the drama (a lot of that in Fafner) that's important here. I recommend watching this after watching Aggressor, to learn about the forgotten ones.

the third

Post by Noproblem »

Name: The Third - The girl with the blue eye (The Third - Aoi Hitomi no Shōjo)
Genre:Sci Fi, Action, Comedy, post apocalyptic (if you ask me)
Rating: 10/10

Summary: the series take place years after a devastion war where most of the planets population were killed (more than 80 %) now, the rest of the population is living in small dessert towns scattered across the planet. at the same time they are being watched by at group of humans (aliens??) called the third, the third are known for their 3th blue space eye, which allows them to controle vast amounts of electronic equipement. the story maily evolves around the two main charaters Honoka and Bogie (being Honokas Ai controlled sand tank). Honoka is a young girl, who cable of doing almost any job, (she also has a third space eye, but instead of being red, as the rest of the third's eyes, hers is blue, which gives her the ability to sense lifeforce around her. she tries to hide her eye with a bandana.) being it helping out in the city or to kill of giant sand spiders or transporting stuff that needs protecting. she is also known as "the sword dancer" due to her graceful movements when she's swinning her katana. the story is more or less about her journey throught out the dessert with all it's tales and mysteries, but also about the people that she meets along her way.

Thoughts: my first impression when i saw this series was "wow, this is awesome". the animation of the series is really well made, the music is at times very thouching, the characters all have great personalities. and one of the charaters i like the most, is bogie, the AI that controles Honokas tank, he's quite a person 8). other than that i really think that you should watch this series, i haven't found many series around that made me wanted to see more, well perhaps execpt for FMP :D

ps. my first review, go easy on me! :)

I couldn't watch past Ep 5 of this series. The story just bored the crap out of me. The characters were all pretty cool except for the guy they find in the desert. /shrug Just couldn't get into it. :?

too bad.

You missed the most incredible action scene, where a AI control tank takes on an AI Tank killer chopper.

Its absobloodylutely fantastic.

You expect the tank to get slaughtered, but he just kicks the dog bollocks, absolutely creams the choppers in a 10min fight.

Dammn wished you could see it. Best thing ever!

*is slightly mecha tank obsessed*

Loved the bit at the end, when after the fight he goes, "tsch. Amateur"

Heh.

Name: Kekkashi
Genre: action, supernatural
Rating: 9/10

Summary:
Five hundred years ago, a feudal lord was attacked by demons wanting to retrieve his mysterious inner power, the invincible power that can help them take over the human world. The famous mage, Tokimori Hazama, was called upon, and with his 2 students, managed to save the whole land. But due to their sickness, the feudal lord was killed, his power buried with him at a site called Karasumori. In the present day, Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of the Hazama clan, became the kekkaishi protecting the land and the power. They use a technique called Kekkai, a form of magical barrier, used to capture and destroy Ayakashi (monsters/demons) that are drawn to this land. Any demons that come near the power will become stronger and therefore Yoshimori and Tokine are to guard the land from intrusion of the Ayakashi. But some of the demons form a powerful organization to take over that mysterious power. Yoshimori plans to destroy not only the demons, but also to gain the power to completely save the world from being controlled by demons. To do that, he first needs to know what the power actually is, and also strengthen his poor kekkai skills. (taken from wikipedia, long live lazyness! 8) )

Thoughts: pretty cool and funny series, i like the fact the they're almost pickingo on the main charater all the time, and the fights between him and his grandfather (due to Yoshimories quite weird fantasy dream, whatever it is). the two demon dogs are also quite funny both the design but also their personalities are nicely made. i'd say that it's worth spending a few hours watching (still on going)

Hey, at least review something that is actully FINISHED.

P.S. Kekkashi starts to suck after Gen dies since McDonald's stopped sponsoring it for Maple Story. But it MIGHT get good again when they attack Kokuboro.

Anything sponsored by McD is not worth watching.

Only Dominos and Pizza Hut is worthy.
