So I've been wondering this a while now, but how exactly do multiclass penalties work?

I understand if a player has several classes far apart from each other in level, they suffer an XP penalty, but I've been entirely unable to find out how much of a penalty it is.

I'm relatively sure it's either it's in the PHB or DMG.

I love the fact he's facing off against the horrible Scholar class from FF3. I beat you with books while wearing scholarly robes.

Actually, that character is a vampire, and, under D&D rules, would be quite powerful.

But yeah, the Scholar class sucked. I remember them being very useful for one battle, however.

Of course, that was the Famicom version. Things might have changed for the DS version.

Dude. I rocked the house with a party of nothing but Scholars once. One of the easiest playthroughs I've ever had.
