as you can see from my avatar is from the 1st episode.
starts of slow as kyoani usual habit but i enjoy it a bit, wanting to see the next episode.

The character designs reminds me between lucky star and clannad stuck between with a mix of kannagi art style. or just over blown lucky star or big head kannagi. lol so many mixtures.

what do you guys think so far?

Overall not half bad,though indeed the first minutes were....but it got better toward the ending(episode 1 I mean).
I'm looking forward to future episodes,and the ED rocks,can't say that for the OP tho....
Also,DMC reference automatically makes it awesome!

The short answer: Cute girls do cute things that are funny and cute.

The long answer: The school's light music club is about to be closed down, so four girls band together (haha pun) to restore it. Cute and moe things occur.

I'd suggest just watching the first episode and making up your mind then.


Despite everyone comparing it to Lucky Star, it reminds me more of Azumanga in some ways...

this show's WAY better than Hyakko and its aimless plot. that being said, four cute girls is a bit too much, but i'm not complaining.

hope there's decent sources for the manga to be found.

bumming around on weekends, likes food and cute things, not good with extremes in temperature, stays under a kotatsu all winter, 'rof sans l' all summer. sounds more like a description for a small animal than hirasawa yui.

Okay, so the short answer is that the series is a rehash of Ichigo Mashimaro. The long answer is that it is a rehash of Manabi Straight! with a different drawing style. That is, of course, being really cynical, but this series seems to have some promise. I am just hoping that the music does not sound like Phil Collins on a bad day. Unfortunately for me, light music has for the most part become synonymous with horrible music that a no-talent hack could do. Now, I am not saying that all light music is bad or talentless. I just think that most of the light music that you hear on the radio is known more commonly in my mind as soft rock and 80's pop. Maybe the problem is that I am starting with the radio. However, if anyone has a different definition of light music, I am open to another opinion. My hope is that light music in Japan has a different meaning altogether.

It's got all the Lucky Star vibes, but whereas LS is all about otaku-ness, this is gonna be about the fun of making a band. The usual bored and bitter moe-hating brigade may hate it, but I'm going to stick with this show.

I got the first few parts of the manga, in chinese, personally i find the manga more interesting... Well, perhaps because it is just the starting, but it differs from the manga slightly... But towards the end of the first episode, it shows the possibility of getting back on track.

P.S. Mio is really really really cute!! You will love her!! well, if the anime follows the manga that is

Super afraid of scary stories etc. Shy, but forced to be vocalist for some unknown reason(fate?).

Some parts of the manga may be skipped, but oh well, i hope the series goes well.

@shichinanatsu, Personally, i kinda like Hyakko. Just plain and simple school life, no love story whatsoever, kinda refreshing... Hyakko is more of a refreshing kinda story, whereas K-ON! is a comedy... seems kinda weird to compare the two

hey, i never said i didn't like the show. just that a mostly character-oriented show just didn't seem so appealing.
