Yes.

To read that was also a big surprise, since it did seem as if even the manga hasnt that much progress... or maybe the fantranslation is a little behind? :?
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.

Quick glance gives you like 40-50 chapters, and counting, for the nationals. Enough for 12-13 eps to cover the team tournament.

Isnt chapter 116 the latest one? And there they still arent yet at the finals... wouldnt that result in an original anime version and not in a genuine adaption?

I stoped reading at around 90 I think, hate clilffhangers so been waiting for the arc to finish.
I'm inclined to believe (praying to god more like) that there is "a plan" specially since the series was announced ages ago. Split-cour and a planed quicker pace on the original work? I'm fine with them milking it for all it is worth as long as they don't creat some stupid original ending. Honestly speaking I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole unless it is an adaption.

In the first series, the manga was also behind the anime series for the last few episodes, but the original author was semi-part of the production team, so she told the anime creators how it would end up. After that, she caught up with the manga. It worked out pretty well, so I'm guessing they'll do the same for the next arc.

If thats the case with the first series I guess we got nothing to worry about.
