First anime I've watched in over a year. I like the dark theme; it's deep and interesting. AND IT MAKES SENSE, as far as zombie apocalypse goes.

While I agree that that was pretty silly, it's not entirely unrealistic in relation to what other manga can throw at you, nor was it really all that important either.

The zombies are way too unthreatening. I'd be worried about the group if the zombies were L4D dangerous

With the way things are going, they can walk through the street and only have to worry about sneezing

But think about what you're saying. The only reason the characters in Left 4 Dead don't get zombified is because they're immune. That would make a lame excuse for a story, and L4D isn't really story-based.

But at least you worry about the survivors when you know a bunch of crazy, fast, and mindless people are after their brains

And the adults... they're too busy staring at their military issued guns to walk outside (where all the really slow zombies are far away from), detonate some dynamite on the opposite side, and be on their merry way to whatever place they were planning to go

My point? These zombies just aren't threatening and the adults with guns will barely hold off the main group

The series reminds me too much of Resident Evil put in a school setting. Yet, we have yet to see a "boss" or anything of a real challenging nature. Frankly, it seems as if nothing would keep people from taking a car and mowing down the zombies like grass. Something just tells me that it would have been wisest to eliminate the zombies inside of the school and set up camp for the duration of the plague until either a cure was found or supplies were absolutely needed. If the zombies had taken over the city, it would also seem to be wisest to literally head for the hills and hide while eating off of the wildlife.

The whole idea is that the zombies are incredibly strong, and once they get hold of you, even for a second, you're f*cked.

The second thing is, basically, if you scream, you die.

It's more of psychological story than an OMGEVERYONEDIES deal.

The may well be the case, but if I want a psychological story, I would probably watch something more like Serial Experiments Lain, Monster, or something that just messes with my mind.

At least the undead there are threatening and (will eventually) kick epic ass

Also, there should be no reason why a zombie can grip you to death but can't out run your average teenager. Especially the fat one

I chalk it up to the idea that zombies are just basically lazy. Ever notice how they drag their feet? Seriously though, I am hoping that the disease will mutate or something to make the zombies stronger, faster, and better.

I actually really like Shiki as well, I just appreciate HOTD too.
