If previous attempts have failed, then this wonderful faithful adaptation by A-1 Pictures is making a strong case for me to go buy an XBOX360.

And all the girls, they're so likable. Though for some reason I'm really drawn to Makoto and Chihaya. If I have to make a 3-girl team then

#1
Makoto (cute tomboy)
Miki (Makoto harem 1)
Yukiho (Makoto harem 2)

#2
Chihaya (ice beauty and singing diva)
Haruka (to keep Chihaya company)
Yayoi (down-to-earth working class girl)

I like this so far, despite what the detractors are saying. To me, it is presenting something kind of old in a new way. Although some have really slammed the first episode, I will say that it is probably the most innovative episode in anime in a long time. No other series has used an entire episode from the first-person perspective solely. I actually would like to see a series or movie do this for the whole thing. While I do not feel inspired to play any of the games because I do not like the music, I do think that the series kind of gives a little peek at the world of the Japanese entertainment industry somewhat. The only problem with this series is the sheer number of girls that you have to learn and differentiate between, although the episodes seem to be slowly fixing that problem by focusing on a few characters. However, it seems to me that Haruka is a staple along with a couple of others.

It is a bit more 'normal' than I thought it would be.

What did you expect? Xenoglossia-like fights?

Watch FLAG. It is a 13-episode anime about a female wartime reporter striving to use her camera to show the truth behind the UN-led war in pseudo Afghanistan/Tibet and uncover the WMD the allies have been using. Many people were turned off by the camera POV throughout the entire series and dropped it after ep 1. The few who stuck with it would have certainly regarded it as one of the most innovative and memorable anime series.

I will do that, then. It is on my "to watch" list anyhow.

You should not need to be embarrassed or ashamed because you are guilty. Guilt is not a feeling.

I feel the same as ben though, for the first ep.

Anyways, again, I'd say that there are no major things happening. No kidnapping, no blackmail...how boring.

Do they have to happen? Really, you only hear about that kind of stuff fairly rarely on ANN. The Japanese are just less likely to do that kind of stuff in general because it is ingrained into them that "お母さんは泣ているよ!"

though there is 'something' lacking to make it 'explosive'.

Episode 5 is your stereotypical beach episode.
