Ignoring b0mb3r, which should and must be done at times, welcome to the forum.

I actually wanted to say that anime rocks and I can't wait for somebody to bring over Denpa Onna to Seisshun Otoko over here in Malaysia. Lol....
Should open a thread for this. I meant Denpa Onna.

I recently finished Crystal Blaze and am watching Himawari!, Chaos; Head, FLAG, and Kobato. I have been pleasantly surprised how good some of these have been, despite reviews and ratings I have seen elsewhere. Some of these are seriously underrated series. Likewise, I watched Kodomo o Ou, which was quite good. It was definitely a Shinkai Makoto movie, but it was gorier than his other movies.

Just watched Sentou Yousei Shoujo Tasukete! Mave-chan and damn...the nostalgia it brings....such an old show and the style reminds me of all those childhood anime in the 90s and early 2000s...Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, Gundam Wing, Love Hina etc...sigh memories all....yeah, Mave-chan, I'll never forget alright....though my HDs may fail or new stuff takes over, the memories of everything I watched or read will always remain within me.

I fell asleep when I watched that in the theater... which was a shame considering how I had been a self-acclaimed Shinkai fan and it was also the first time I saw a Shinkai movie with a big screen. Being a Ghibli otaku since 6 doesn't help either (or even contributed to worsen my impression of the movie).

I still keep a slideshow of screenshots from previous Shinkai movies as my desktop wallpapers, but my confidence towards his next work (if any) has sunk to an all-time low.

Really? I thought that it was good. It was definitely messed up on a philosophical level though.

It was pretty and all but the plot had some glaring holes (ie. the dad, Shin's village, etc)

Yeah, I noticed that, too. I overlooked it for the most part because of the other things that I saw as more fundamental to the movie.
