Second, you can get a Shining Force rom either from Genesis or the GBA remake.

Mass Effect is great because it ties three genres I love in a believable way, first person shooter, rpg, and science fiction.

When Diablo 3, Mass Effect 2, and Dragon Age come out, this list will probably change completely.
Opinion.

Well, you play the role of someone, but it is mostly placed under the puzzle category. Great games, but I never did solve the marble puzzle in Riven on my own.

Well if you define rpg like that then would every game be a rpg

so not in my book

for me, they are only two uninteresting point-and-click adventures with for their time good grafik but with lame puzzles - I couldnt understand their hype. there were even better adventures before.

in my book a rpg need character progression

define an adventure series cause king quest is the only major series that i click (beside incredible machines) that requires me to get tons of items and use them for very important events. like an rpg

Ah for that exists the Wiki und if you wonder what the difference is here the one for rpg. Some older but nice adventures I liked: Monkey Island 1-2, Indiana Jones 3-4, Day of the Tentacle, Space Quest 5, The Longest Journey, Gabriel Knight, Leisure Suit Larry, Gobliiins, Simon the Sorcerer, The Moment of Silence, Hook... und I am sure I missed some...

Half Minute Hero? research: times later

wow i am a bit impressed. 30 missons, 30 seconds. if you speed run you can beat this game less than 15 minutes. wow
this is as impressive as the new ps3 3-D dot heroes coming to the NA. i feel that 8 bits has alot of potentials still since one bit equals one pixs. i sort of want to see a very very good looking game that looks 8 bits but has alot of modern graphics. not a poor remade,,,,,LOOKING AT YOU TMNT!

HMH was never a remake, the 8-bit idea was to give it a retro feel.

Can't say I enjoyed HMH much, the gameplay gets old pretty fast and the time limit only serves to take away the idea of grinding before a tough boss battle
