So... I've been meaning to get a DS to complete my Nintendo fanboyism (but not quite) when I came across a shiny green matrixey case with the words, "R4" written on it in one of the game stores here in piracy heaven land.

Now, I'm well aware of the flash drive readers used for pirates to play downloaded games on any portable console... but I had no idea of how much the technology behind Chinese innovation (piracy related) has evolved.

Did you know that with any Slot-2 microsd card readers for the DS you can:
1. Watch videos on the two screens.
2. Read manga, comics, and porn with two screens.
3. Do almost everything you can do online with a regular web browser except with a touchscreen (including AIM, MSN, etc.)
4. Do basically everything the PSP claims to be able to do short of actually playing PSP "games".
5. Play .mp3, .ogg, etc.
6. Stream live video, music from your computer (Why? I dunno)
7. Play "backup" DS games. Up to 60 of them on a single 2gb microsd card.
8. Play said "backup" DS games online.
9. Play Japanese DS games without having to pay the obscene price of importing it.
9. Impress Hot Chick with sleek white DS lite. (I'm serious. It works! This is probably the first game console I know that can get chicks back to your room.)

I guess the only stalling point is that the price of the R4, microsd card, and the DS lite will make it the same price as the PSP.

I've been a fan of Nintendo hand helds since I was like six. Unfortunately, I don't have a DS. I want one though . . . .

Strangely enough, I have owned at least one of each Nintendo console/handheld other than the SNES and the DS.

I would buy a DS lite, but, sadly, I do not really have the money, as I have instead spent it on anime and Wii and MTG.
