Re: Final Fantasy XIII und versus
^ I have to disagreed with you on that. the two "good games" are probably IV and VI and the revolutionized one is VII but again is on personal preferences. One friend like 8 the other hated it. One hate 9 but the other loves it. X is questionable but I tried it a bit and I liked it alot. Some liked the gamble system in XII and other hated the story. not only the main game series are good but also some of its offspring like final fantasy tactics. I recently bought the GBA version and i'm loving it. So what may be encouraging me to play XIII despite bad hearings is I want to see Square Enix experimentation on what they did with XIII

I find VIII to be my favorite due to the bat shit crazy yet awesome story. I recently found this theory and it reignited my burning passion for this game.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII und versus
Ah, I hope I will get this weekend enough time to test the game satisfactory and that it will be found good enough to justify the purchase of the PS3 (But beside that I had already some fun with Burnout Paradise and some other games, but I had also to swallow some disappointments...)
Also I think I saw FFVII and VIII in the PS3 store for download...
I think I still have those games somewhere for PC. VII was good, but I havnt liked the draw system of VIII

I dunno, I've heard massive amounts of complaining for FF XIII. Everything from boring battles to bad menus to a one-track story to uninteresting characters to horrible dungeon and world design. Is it even still worth getting?

No. It has a linear story, uninteresting characters, horrible dungeon and world design and boring battles. It's worse than XII. The only good thing about the game is the graphics.R1CK_D0M wrote:I dunno, I've heard massive amounts of complaining for FF XIII. Re: Final Fantasy XIII und versus
I finally beat FFXIII last week Thursday. It was alright, but I definitely have a few complaints about it. For one, the camera at the beginning had some Resident Evil-like gliches. Secondly, the plot was kind of jerky, where some of the events have almost no reason for them to happen. Eidelons, anyone? Thirdly, I have never heard so many self-deluding, self-motivational speeches in my life, except for my high school pep rallies (Ugh...*shivers*). Fourthly, I could not stand Vanille or Hope because the first's English voice "talent" is exactly that and the latter's character is almost a trope of the wimpy male lead in harem series. Lastly, I felt like I was just wandering through the levels fairly aimlessly, especially when it came to the side quests, which had almost no rewards whatsoever so that I did not care about them or pumping my characters at the very end. Overall, I give the game a 7/10, only because the graphics save it...somewhat...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII und versus
I will probably play FFXIII-2 at least a little for kicks, but I am not expecting too much from it. Also, the screenshot of Lightning that is everywhere on the internet now looks kind of like Claire from Claymore.

FFXIII-2 should be interesting. Not digging Lightning's armor though.
