Classic Asian Games

Post by ainsoph9 »

I have been curious who plays what kind of classic Asian games here. I am not talking about video games like Mario or Sonic. Games like Shogi, Go, Mahjong, Chinese Chess, etc. are the kinds of games that I am looking for. If you play, how often do you play? How good are you? If you do not play,
are you interested in learning?

Personally, I have played Shogi before, but I am no good. I have recently had a rash to play Go and am ranked 18k on the KGS server. I like playing Mahjong, but I am need instruction on how to get better. I have no idea how to play any other Asian games.

I never tried Shogi. But I play Chinese Chess, and I have a book about Go.

I know an American currently in China who's into Mahjong, BTW. In contrast, I have never played that.

kira, if you would like, I can teach you how to play Go. It is a relatively easy game to learn but a hard game to master. It is a lot of fun either way and can be quite addictive. 8)
