No, its not by the same author, however, its by a good writer, namely the writer of the Inukami! series(completed), Lucky Chance(On-going) and though i would say a poorer series, Sweet Line(On-going).

I have read two volumes of the novel, volume 1 was quite good, comparable to the manga. However, I would say volume two is poorly done in comparison.

In the summary, the first volume covers "Angel" with the title of the volume being "God, Angel and Devil", whereas the second covers "Miko and Genius". But I would say its poorly done because volume two focuses a lot on the miko part, which has plenty of loopholes.

P.S. Good observation, I never noticed Asami in there!

P.S.2 @b0mb3r: Not possible for the manga to have it, since Asami is too late. If she is to be included, she should have been in the list of people to check for goddesses in the manga, since she is in the same class. You can't really blame the author of the novel for it, since I bet he didn't expect such a turn of events... And also, you might as well introduce the last member of the novel series as well? There are only 4 new girls in the first two volumes, so might as well introduce the miko as well.
