Megatokyo

I know there is a Japanese translation, but is it really known in Japan, or is it mostly limited to people who know the English version anyway?

No... I was just wondering if the comic is actually known in the country in which it plays.

Apparently, it was so popular that people in Japan "demanded" a Japanese version

So ya, it should be pretty well known.

Not sure how popular it is now with it going downhill since Largo left the team, but it should still have a decent fanbase

He's been gone for years. In the plural.

The character is still there, of course.

As I understood it, the Japanese version is still at Volume 1 - which should be chapter Zero. Caston left afterwards, so only people familiar with the English comic would know how it developed from there on. Of course, critics could be familiar with the English comic while the average Japanese reader is not.

In that case, no translator = no new volumes in Japan = less publicity = less people that care about Megatokyo

It's that simple..
