Manga translator

So I've been a bit lazy on my Japanese, and I need a motivation (rather than just doing novels which can eat up time easily) to keep me going. So I've thought about being a manga translator.

Any comments?

I might possibly help out the Onidere scanlations, but I'll keep working on Seitokai no Ichizon.

Why not? But just afraid it would take up too much of your time, besides, it might be even harder, since manga translations usually need you to be quite fast... But its up to you, just stay around B-T haha!

Its not like Id be going THAT fast lol. Id rather be more of a guest translator rather than regular.

Speaking of doing manga translation, I have been thinking about doing some for Ika Musume. Although the series has people translating it, one of the groups just picks a random chapter to translate every so often. I think that this is irresponsible towards the fans of the series. The other is a single guy who is translating it, but his release schedule is quite unpredictable. It does not look that difficult to translate overall, but I am weighing in the time to translate per chapter. (I have a life and am busy as is.) There are about 140 chapters to translate currently, which average about 10 pages a piece and not too much text. It is something that I am considering, given that the raws are available and the current translators seem to be butchering a decent series. Any thoughts?

the best motivation is when someone else is translating different volumes of the same project as you, and he or she is highly active, releasing stuff at mach 1. then you start feeling a kind of pressure, not in a bad way, if you know what I mean.

I would prefer little pressure, or I might be forced to retire from BT lol...
