If you are still looking for VN to read I recommend Heavy Object, whenever I read it I get the feeling I'm watching an anime instead of reading a book because the characters are so alive and the narration is so unique. It contains big robots but I wouldn't consider it a mecha genre because it doesn't have giant humanoid robots that can move in impossible ways or combine like the Power Rangers or Gurren Lagan. It's pretty entertaining and their selling point is their strong protagonists (not strength wise but in the narration sense).

I would recommend Moonlight Sculptor. I read SAO first and I am like whoa, this is good but then later on i read Moonlight Sculptor, it is even better!

It have the same rpg game theme as SAO except the where players get stuck in the game.

It is Korean novel currently being translated in English on another place: http://www.royalroadl.com/table-of-content/

I agree with guest, The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is even better than SAO imo. Another VRMMORPG that's almost as good as LMS but still better than SAO (imo) is Ark, though it's only a few chapters translated atm, you can read it at japtem.com

I cant believe no one said Legendary moonlight sculptor yet..

ITS THE SAME THING AS SAO BUT 100x Better. Go to royalroadl.com and read everything , over 40 books virtual reality. Its soo good, way better, more mature! READ IT! LEGENEDARY MOONLIGHT SCULPTOR.. His profession in VR is sculptor.. but trust me its bad ass.

Please get your eyes checked, the second and third posts on this page are recommending LMS... Also, '100x better', over-hype much?

this is freaking good, so good that almost everyday i reread it. SAO is good but to my knowledge MOONLIGHT SCULPTOR is the BEST. not recomended but it a must to read it.
