VN OSTs

I'm not sure if 'tis a repeat thread.

Anyways, I was looping Romance from F/HA for about 4 hours when I wanted to loop the event scene OST from F/SN. However, I realized that I did not in fact, have it.

So, my question is, does anyone know/remember the name of that track? I liked it quite a lot.

Nobody knows?

I see. 'Tis a shame.

Can I ask more details if it's rather a hard music or a light, and with voice or not?

OSTs usually do not have voices. As common to most event scenes, the music is soft.

Have you not played FSN?

Well, it is of no import, I shall scroll through tracklists on my own.

Never. Watched the anime once, but it was too long to download. (No budget)

Also, sometimes I hear 'background' voices in the OSTs. Though I don't think it's considered as an OST.

Try this. There's also video links on the right.:

No, I found the name, I forgot to check the most obvious place.

That being, the music gallery of the actual VN.

The track is called Embrace. It was never released, it has to be taken by ripping it from the VN.

That said, I just realised that half out of my 1900 music tracks are from some form of Fate.

This is the song.

Well, I am sick right now, so I have time to spare to find things. It did not take me that long, though.

Ah, I should rest...

Fate Stay Night OST's are awesome, but some covers are really good as well. Anyone listen to Kana imouto OSTs?

Since the title says "VN OSTs" and not "F/SN OSTs", allow me to expand on the discussion, if you may.

The only VN OSTs that I seriously collect are those released by Key Sounds Label, which of course, releases OSTs from Key titles (Kanon, AIR, Clannad, Little Busters! , Angel Beats! ). Their music is just, I dunno, one notch above the rest in the VN field.

In the past, I used to order them from Himeya, but it folded as the Yen keeps getting more and more expensive this past few years, now I'll have to either get them via Amazon Japan via a 3rd party shipping site (as Amazon Japan doesn't ship such stuff overseas), or just buy them directly from Akihabara, which shouldn't be too much of a problem as I'll be relocating to Tokyo soon.

Oh? I thought that the ef OST was better than the Key ones. Key OSTs...I have never really paid much attention to them, but I will agree that they usually go very well with the atmosphere. However, I still prefer ef's.

F/SN only has an average OST at best, I just like the event scene ones.

Other ones I liked were...I suppose, one or two tracks from Yosuga no Sora, a few Devils Devel Concept ones, many Shikokku no Sharnoth ones, I loved the Quartett OSTs...

Well, that's off the top of my head, I am sure I love a lot more.

For some reason, I never really enjoy August's OSTs.

Ah, I agree. I love Key's OSTs—especially 潮鳴り, which I have listened to countless times. Tenmon are great, too.

And to list some other VNs with great OSTs:
- Hoshizora no Memoria
Never got fed up the sad songs here. "記憶の渦 現在" is <3

- Tasogare no Sinsemilla
I wanted the OST ever since I had played the VN and I kept listening to it after the soundtrack was released. "深い霧の先へ"

- 11eyes
I love the darker tracks on here. Those used for the fighting scenes and the Akai Yoru.

- Trample on "Schatten!!" had also some quite good tracks—not least because of the "Kagefumi no Uta" songs and one of my all-time OP favorites: 鏡の森.

Yes, Tenmon is one of my favorite composers.

Personally, I love Key's Shionari (I think it's spelled like this?) in Clannad.

To tell the truth, Sora no Yume was resounding around in my mind when I thought about ef, even though it is not the VN's single.

And, I just replayed the latter tale recently, so maybe I am biased from that direction.

Ah, just thinking about it makes me cry...

Edit: Well anyways, one example of an OST which I like from ef would be Frailty Feather.

And yes, I really enjoy the 11eyes soundtrack too. Unfortunately, I have not played the rest of those games.

Ah, this thread reminds me, I have not played ef's pleasurable box yet...How did I forget it?

Not too familiar with the ef ones, but I shall check them out.

Going back to Key, exaggerated this may sound, Maeda Jun is a genius.

Having a master in Psychology in college, he's pretty much the master when it comes to tingling the crying senses, first letting your guard down with insane laughter, and then slowly drop a teargas bombshell. AIR and Clannad are the prime examples of this.

Though another talent Maeda is less known for is his music composition. The Clannad animes OPs and EDs were either arranged or composed by him, and nearly all the Girls Dead Monster songs in Angel Beats were composed and lyrics written by him alone, I usually end up listening to those GDM soundtrack Keep The Beats endless times without getting bored.

Now he's pretty much semi-retired from writing and has become a full-time composer.

Wow, he wrote the Angel Beats! OST?

He has my full respect. I think My Heart is one of the most played tracks on iTunes.

Ah, Clannad was a tearjerker alright. But, for some reason, ef had a larger effect on me. I think I like Chiharu more than Kyou <!--Yes, I know, 'tis hard to believe.-->

Ah, maybe I should actually take advantage of the fact that I bought Clannad and play it again... I have been wanting to play a good nakige after all.
