If you go with a few friends who also play guitar and the like, you can make the trip even more worth it as you goof off together and get the stuff you need.

Nahh, my friend has a girlfriend who buys him stuff for his guitar. (Damn guy got a freaking pedal for his birthday. And it was like 200 bucks or something.)

I hope she knows what she is buying for him. Seriously, having your girlfriend buy you guitar stuff when she does not know the first thing about guitar is a one-way ticket to crappy sound. If she does know something, especially if she knows more than you, I would be careful as well because she will try to tame your musical tastes and playing style to match her likes.

Well hes more of the guy who will offhandedly mention something he likes, and then on a special date( birthday, christmas, etc) he will miraculously get it from her. Its not a problem as he pretty much shows her the page...

That is good. At least he is smart enough to do that. Typically, if she does not know what she is doing, she will just get whatever "looks" the nicest.

Yeah. Shes not musically inept as she plays piano really well. I dunno how it translates into guitar skills though.

It does not really translate too much, except for the fact that she might be able to figure out the chords quicker.

And probably strum easier too.

I doubt the strumming part. She will know more about music theory, and that is pretty much it.

Any knowledge about music helps in the longrun. Although, the strumming part is slightly true since she must be able to keep a beat.

Especially with that right hand...
