Third picture: You were moving the camera when you took the shot...
Fourth picture: Looks almost like CGI . . . too gaudy to be real. Except the people look real.

Yeah, but what I meant to ask was what the original scene was about (without the shake).rpapo wrote:Third picture: You were moving the camera when you took the shot...
Indeed. It is cool to use such effect once in a while for boring night shots, but it is also easy to get tired of it.Fourth picture: Looks almost like CGI . . . too gaudy to be real. Except the people look real.

That's some high dynamic there....

The colour was in fact very vibrant and I only adjusted the parameters in the raw-to-jpeg conversion software that comes with the digital compact without further post-production.

Re: Photography
Thanks. I'm a newbie so I still need more practice . It is certainly interesting to try to see the world from different angles through the viewfinder. Potte from Tamayura inspired me to try that.lexomaniac wrote:wow, you really know how to choose the right angle!

Re: Photography
I dropped my camera yesterday. There is a few scratches and a dent on the metallic body, which I don't mind, but the manual pop-up flash no longer pops up.
It isn't like my style of photography requires use of flash. But still...
Since I bought the camera second-handed, there is no warranty and I am sure the local agent will charge me an arm and a leg even just for getting a stuck flash popping out. I am still thinking whether I should send it for repair or just keep it as it as. What a great new year awaiting a broke student.
Anyway here is a random shot yesterday. The sky here is smoggy as always, ruining an otherwise acceptable sunset shot. The following two pictures are with different white balance settings and no post processing other than raw-to-jpg conversion. Which one do you think is less bad?

Re: Photography
To be honest with the "which look the better" they both look ridiculously good to me. The top one looks more like dusk and the bottom more like dusk.
As in, they look like 2 totally different pictures like you camped there for a night.

Your camera was stolen? Sorry to hear that.b0mb3r wrote:at least your camera wasn't stolen in Hunan....
Public safety in major coastal cities in China is borderline acceptable, but once you get inland it is a total joke...
Glad to hear that you like it . I used a long exposure to get the steamy ocean effect. Still nothing beats a nice sunset.hobogunner wrote:To be honest with the "which look the better" they both look ridiculously good to me. The top one looks more like dusk and the bottom more like dusk.

Nah it is in Lei Yue Mun in NT, looking towards Shau Kei Wan on HK island.Cosmic Eagle wrote:Is that Tsuen Wan?
