San Diego Comic Con 2012

Post by b0mb3r »

Today I have treated myself my own present; reserved hotel and flight for this year's Comic-Con. Just wondering with more new members here is anyone going to this year comic-con? I feel lonely that I'm the only baka-tsuki member going there every year without meeting any peeps. I have considered setting up a booth way back when one of our own went on the tv tube talking about light novels but we decided not to get any heat/exposure.

I very well may go, it's a 5 hour drive, but it should be worth it.

Please learn from my mistake younglings. When I was younger I bought the adult ticket to comic-con, not kids. I could have save myself 25 bucks each time so I really emphasize if you are under 17 you can buy cheaper. Sadly the this is the first time for comic-con to make the ticket a 100 dollar more so it become more of a luxury now. I highly recommend to go to other conventions that are closer and cheaper. Then again you should still go to big cons like Wondercon, Wizard World or that new Disney one as they are cheaper compared to this one b/c it is the world's largest.

Hoho no San Diego is far larger and more popular. It is more correct to say Comiket is the world's largest gathering of doujinshi instead.

How large is Hoho no San Diego? In terms of attendance, it is kind of hard to beat Comiket, which pulls in hundreds of thousands of people every time.

500k at last count....

Which is why I'm now adopting the technique of get people to buy for me rather than go myself...

Cons on the West Coast I have heard typically have numbers in the 100k+ to around under 300k range, but this does not apply to all of them.
