Oni stalking Symph is common knowledge, but what's this ban wars thingy? Care to explain a bit? :P

Another 2.5 pages of GOTH done. I would be interested in knowing what everybody thought of this particular passage. (reminder: this is GOTH we're talking about here.)

My own thoughts:
Spoiler! :
It may sound strange, but the moment, though horrifying, felt somehow ... majestic. Even in the desecration, dignity. It felt strangely good to allow myself to be frozen there along with the other two onlookers, just staring quietly at Miguchi Nanami. And thus do I declare my certifiable insanity, thank you very much, folks!

It works even better if you have the manga scan to go along with it.

So here's a question: Should we stick to the original (which doesn't have any pictures) or slap along the manga version of Nanami which is, erm, VERY disturbing?

I say stick with the original.

Why? Am I missing something?

"When the cicadas cry" is known as the direct translation of Higurashi no naku koro ni. :P

Hmm, Geneon's "When They Cry" idea sounds a bit more ominous though doesn't it. =p

Yea, it's just that that specific line was in chapter one of the GOTH translation 8)

On a side note, is anyone here actually reading the translations? :?

The famous cicada line:
二人並んで、頭上から降ってくる蝉の声に耳をすませた。
Futari narande, zujou kara kudatte kuru semi no koe ni mimi wo sumaseta.

So yeah, maybe you can get a title out of that ... "Semi no Koe ni Mimi wo..."

(Argh, I realized that I don't know for certain what verb that is at the end!! So I can't conjugate it!! Ok, sorry, just had to vent that.)

Annnnd, rest of ch2 up, the usual place.

And just to mention again, I can provide raws, both text and scan to anyone who asks me through either PM or IRC. (Could always use more eyes to help go over the translation.) The only reason I'm doing it this way is because of the prohibition on this board for direct linking of raws. If there's a better way to bend the rules, let me know!

HolyCow:
And I just had to hunt down the manga again and find that page. That, combined with the novel description made it click all over again. (p60; the scene is p58-61 for reference.)

I'm divided on adding the manga illustrations. But I do recommend that anyone who's up to it, try looking through that whole 58-61 section along with the novel.

And looking over the manga TOC, it seems that there are 5 chapters covered -- chapter 6 is novel-only, the last chapter of Boku's section. Something to look forward to. I remember way back when I first read the manga, thinking "That's it? Tell me there has to be more. PLEEEEASE!!!"
