Because we don't have an inactive section.

Does anyone think that it would be a good idea to put up an inactive column to help promote more translator activity?

I really wish this would get active again. It's my favorite of all of the novels that baka-tsuki is translating.
Maybe with the movies coming out soon, we can get a couple translators. It seems that we only get translators after an anime or movie comes out.

So true. And this one is something I'd really like to translate into Russian

I still don't know much about KnK. What's so interesting about it?

Basically, if you are a fan of Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night, you would probably want to read/watch this. I have read part of the first novel, and I must say that it was interesting. I have also seen Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night. Since the universes of all three stories are linked, it is interesting to look at the individual stories themselves and the link between them. That is how I personally see it though. I do recommend those series if you have not seen them. Watching Tsukihime will definitely help in understanding what KnK is about.

Yeah I've watched them both. I was planning on playing the Tsukihime game though because the anime wasn't very well done.

I'm a fan of all three, but KnK has a much more interesting story in my opinion. I also like the characters more.

What Tsukihime anime do you speak of?TheGiftedMonkey wrote:Yeah I've watched them both. I was planning on playing the Tsukihime game though because the anime wasn't very well done.
Anyways, Kara no Kyoukai (apparently) is written similarly to F/SN and Tsukihime, and it also has cool material. If you liked F/SN or Tsukihime, you would probably like this.

Re: Why is KnK under the active translation column?
Here's how a Nasuverse story is written:
1. The beginning will utterly confound you and might turn you off
2. It gets better after the "introductions"
3. Dual personality, baby! Woo!
4. The number of inhuman characters outnumber the humans
5. Murder. Knife / blade
6. You know... murder isn't that big of a deal after the first time. In fact, I think I can gain superhuman ability after killing someone or being killed.
7. Abstract reasoning that really doesn't make all that much sense
But it really is good. I was shocked when I found out the translation hasn't finished and reading it made me feel like the first time I played Tsukihime.
Also, don't "watch" Tsukihime. The anime sucks horribly. Play the game or bloody read the thing, just don't watch it.

Re: Why is KnK under the active translation column?
Oddly enough, that only seems to apply to KnK and Tsukihime, the former which is a prototype of the latter. Nasuverse has a shitload of good concepts, but they desperately need some decent expanding on...F/SN's writing(or maybe just the translation), wasnt anywhere near as fantastic as Tsukihime's. It seemed more like a standard good vs evil fantasy conflict.
Im completely confused why people have such a massive hardon for Fate/Zero. Its like "HOLY SHIT FSN NOVEL ON 4TH WAR RELEASED WRITTEN BY NITRO+ EVERYONE MAKE A TRANSLATION PROJECT!!!", while KnK ranges from "wtf is KnK?" and "Theres no translated game or anime? poke this shit.". Fate/Zero is fantastic, yes, but KnK isnt some shitty novel either. Considering the impressive amount of type-moon fags that are translators, you would think this would get some translation.

Re: Why is KnK under the active translation column?
It's possibly because Fate/Zero appeals to a simpler demographic. The plot is relatively simple, somewhat charming, and the like. The demand is also higher for Fate/Zero, leading to more whining and more attention to it. Remember that anime is primarily aimed at a younger audience (younger here is quite subjective, but think of it as a maturity gauge) and the Fate series appeals more to them.
You know, just like how children don't read A Clockwork Orange. Sorta the same reason.

The book is written in a very difficult way to translate it. Why don't you try to translate it?Question wrote:Considering the impressive amount of type-moon fags that are translators, you would think this would get some translation.
