The general consensus is that Kara No Kyoukai is the prototype of Tsukihime. Kokutoh looks like Tohno Shiki, Ryoghi Shiki is basically a female overpowered version of Tohno Shiki, Kokutoh's sister looks like Akiha, Fujino is basically a more powerful version of Akiha, Tohko and Aoko both teach the main character about supernatural stuff(Although Tohko's role is obviously much larger), most of the sorcery/magic stuff holds true for both versions, etc.

Whether or not Kara No Kyoukai is canon is debatable, but the last consensus i know of was that Kara No Kyoukai is in an alternate universe. Im not sure on what basis this was established. Either way it doesnt matter much, except that all the similarities are just a bit far fetched if we consider both being canon.

Of course there may be inconsistencies in Kara no Kyoukai and the Nasuverse that Tsukihime and F/SN takes place in, but if there is, it hasnt been translated yet and im not aware of them.
Spoiler! :
As for the list of NPs, almost correct. The F/SN wikipedia article has an accurate list. One thing of note is that UBW isnt a noble phantasm, technically, its a reality marble. Archer is basically h4x, he can use nearly every NP in existence as long as he has the mana to trace/image the NP in question and use it and he knows of the NP's existence. Exceptions : EX ranked NPs because supposedly the materials they are made up of dont exist anymore in the world.
Type-Moon stuff has a reputation for very good storylines ever since the success of Tsukihime. If any of you have played that game you should know what i mean. Nasu sorta has a reputation for writing sad endings now.

Unless magicians and true ancestors have the ability to jump through dimensions, it has to be canon, just happened a very long time ago or something along those lines. Because if it were not canon, you'd have some serious storyline issues in Tsukihime, (i.e: glasses).

And it would be better for you to spoilerize that post.

If Tsukihime is in an alternate dimension, then it is a dimension with a Tohko.

It's not an alternative dimension. there's some reffers to Tsukihime's characters.

Hey ppl. Could anyone help me out with something? My computer can't type in Chinese so I find that I'm unable to put up kanji whenever it comes up. For example there's this one section in Garan-no-Dou where these http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a175/ ... /kanji.jpg come up.

I would appreciate the help if someone could be kind enough to type it up and post it so I can copy paste the edit in. Thanks.

Couldn't get the middle one yet.
EDIT: Here it is 式.

Took me a little time, generated the first two through google translate but I couldn't remember a Chinese phrase that *had* to have 式 in it. >_<

Dammit... this only means my Chinese is getting veeeeeerry rusty. I'm so ashamed since it's my 'first language'.

For chapter 4, can the translator confirm whether "Draft" means the translation is done and awaiting editing or the translation is still in progress?

Cheers... if you need me to go a-hunting again, I'd be glad to. ^^ Better keep reminding myself that not everyone writes in English-like letters.

Chapter 4 void shrine /2

"But hey, you are a cute a lady along my line a fancy so it's my lucky day!""

I dont understand this part of the sentence. It seems the grammar is wrong...

/3

The something'th morning after I woke up comes around. My eyes are still wrapped in bandages so I can't see a thing.

Errr what? Is this intentional?

/1~3, part 1

"I can't believe I'm getting involved in this sort of nonsense at a place like this, what kind of fate is this? Touko bites her lips."

Im confused by this line. Shouldnt the first sentence be in quotes? The way the sentence is structure makes it sound like speech.

Edit : I wrote "non-sense" but the forum for some reason is changing it to "Kunikida"....

/1~3 part 2

The best of the best reach the stage of 'disconnection of space', but if you go that far you are looking at mages not sorcerers. Currently there's only one mage in this country, so basically that kind of ward just can't be formed."

"Shouldnt this be "magician"? Isnt mage/magus the generic term to refer to anyone capable of using sorcery, while sorcerer explictly refers to someone only capable of sorcery, and magician refers to someone who has achieved true magic?

"... Well, among ward specialists there are a lot of philosophers. Most of them are well distanced from anything accompanied by violence so it should be alright nor now.""

Looks like an extra word to me. Shouldnt it be "So it should be alright now."?

/5

All the sound FXs...any idea how they should be written?

Oh, damn. I should have picked those up when I was skimming.

Chapter 4 void shrine /2

"But hey, you are a cute a lady along my line a fancy so it's my lucky day!""

Okay this part should have gone you are a cute young lady along my line of fancy, but this wasn't a very good translation on my part. Basically it was supposed to mean something like Shiki looks like the type of girl Touko likes.

As for the something'th .... not my best day. That was a direct translation of the Korean, any suggestions there?

Oh and the /1-/3 part. Nasu often leaves thoughts unquoted, I didn't want to change much in regards to things like that so I left it as it was. Should I change it?

Magician, hmmmmmm you are right. I seem to remember Emiya and Tohsaka in FSN being referred to as mages.

Oh and that nor should be a for.

The Sound FX.... One of my most loathed parts about the Korean/Japanese language. I'll see what I can come up with.

I'll edit this later when I finish my exams. First one starts in... damn, I'm late.

:EDIT: I hate chemistry. Okay, I've fixed most of the above, but please look at them and change them if you think that it could be expressed better. As for Nasu's strange blindness regarding whispers and thoughts, I think I will keep it as it is.

:EDIT2: Okay I've started putting up chapter 5 translations. I think I did a better job on /2 than I did on the scripts for chapter 4 but who knows :?

Thought I'd better post here, as I've been running an overhaul on KnK.

It's mostly just rephrasing and elaboration on stylistic points and grammar, but there are a couple of major edits in there.

Anyway, just trying to make the thing read more interestingly, make of it what you will.

I'll post my intended edits/justifications up on here for examination in the future, if you'd prefer.
