WARNING: Possible End of Translation

Post by alyeris »

As some of you might know there have been rumours going around for weeks now that an American Publisher will be picking up Kara no Kyoukai.

Well. They were apparently true. http://www.animeondvd.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=83033

As of the release of Faust Volume 1 there was a note included in the back of the book which stated that Del Ray is planning to publish Kara no Kyoukai, with the first volume coming out around early 2009. There is yet to be any statement apart from this from Del Ray, online or offline, that I have been able to find. So for now translation will continue. I intend to finish the remainder of Volume 1 within the next few weeks. After that however I may decide to pause the project or end it altogether depending on developments. If I do start Volume 2 just keep in mind that translation WILL stop if Del Ray makes a full announcement.

So for now, just sit tight and keep on the lookout for any news about this series.

Volume 1 ends with part 11 of Paradox Spiral, it then cuts to Volume 2 where the story picks up again from Touko's VERY cool battle.

KnK always confused me the way its Chaps/Vols were organized. :P Keep an eye out for any more word on the licensing. I know we have quite a few KnK fans who'd hate to see this project get shut down. :?

If Del Ray does decide to pick this up, when will they tell the public? Any guesses?

Also, I haven't had the best experience with Del Ray. Have they done anything Japanese besides Manga?

wow. good news indeed.

loved this series. shame it didn't get the attention it deserve, although i think the short films, has really perked the interest in it.

Weeeeeeeelll Faust is out and it's official. Rakkyo is going to be released in 2009 in two volumes. So what does this mean for this project? Dead? Erased? Gimme your opinions all XD.

locked? that is the current B-T policy isnt it?
Lock a volume as it comes out in english... as in, no more edits?

good timing, the poll&debate for the locking policy will just be conclude by the end of this year. so if voted in, will be effective by 2009.

Anyone know where I could get the English version of KnK? I live in oversea, so it's kind of hard to find the kind of info...

Has anything been said (then or since) about how Mirai Fukuin will be handled? There's no particular reason for them not to release it as an extra chapter alongside the two volumes, but just confirming.
