Well, since i have done quite a few chapters of KnS by now, and there seem to be several differences between my translations and those before me...

Hiyono, Nerevarine and maybe more people out there may find the format and styles being rather... different...

So i was, have been, and is wondering whether i should re-translate the earlier chapters... However, this would naturally mean that i may have to reduce or stop my current translations of where i am now...

So... A poll for it?

Anyways!! i shall indicate the question and answers here then... until someone teaches me how to make a poll, or do it for me =X

As for this, what are the differences between your translations and the ones prior to yours? Are there any significant things that can't be changed without a few edits?

The fifth option is the only one valid.It doesn't feel right to re-translate the chapters before,just because the style is different.Actually,I think it adds some unique flavour to the text.Should be left alone,imo.

I know, but i couldnt find it when i made this thread... i tried to find it, i swear!! >"<

Anyways, the main reason is that in case people could not understand what the story is saying...
No i am not saying that anything is wrong, and personally i do not wanna do extra work if possible, but i am just hearing comments... There are certain parts that could be improved upon, and making it easier to put the point across and such, however if everyone is fine with it there is no reason to do so, after all, i did not read KnS through B-T thus i am unsure of how everyone would think and such.

This thread has pointed out one part of the chapter that is different. Thus i was wondering whether there is indeed such a need to do such a job. No, i am not trying to offend anyone or anything. I was just seeking opinions. Thus i would basically hope to hear the comments and opinions of readers of KnS that is all

Personally, I would rather the translation continue and later chapters can be revisited afterwards, especially since the content of those chapters was well covered by the anime.

As for fiendmaw's comment, it's not so much a stylistic difference as that the earlier chapters are quite simply very difficult to read. I'd noticed this first when reading the chapters for myself, and again when Shadow first brought the issue to light. It would definitely be a vast improvement to have the earlier chapters retranslated and edited; however, as we only have one translator (and one whose time is already primarily devoted to the translation of SnS), it simply doesn't seem pragmatic.

Yeah, perhaps difficult to read may be a good way to put it?

And Hiyono, i am not primarily devoted to SnS, i am primarily devoted to KnS! SnS is too tough for me >"< but i hate to not do what i said i would... so i had to work on it nonetheless... The KnS text is not totally that bad, but i need to refer back to my original novel to confirm all the details.

Well I voted for the second choice. I think the current volume should take priority but after finishing it, if you feel comfortable (not tired from it) you could try, as it would make the translation more balanced.

and when it says "when u run out of things to translate" that means....only when you have nothing to do. as in kns, sns, everything...

really the chapters right now are...well....you can get the general idea of the story....

but still...its better for you to spend your time with untranslated material than already translated chapters, but really....its all up to you

PS. its too bad you cant vote for 2 things....#5 sounds mighty appealing

The thing is, i dont really know how the chapters are earlier... cause i never read them?
i heard some comments but i never really knew what everyone thinks of them...
