Seriously, if they can't translate a series title properly, one wouldn't expect any better for the text translation.

If they are really going to translate everything by google translation, then there's no point to release it anymore won't it, although to read the text off directly like that isn't going to help the poor readers. Hopefully, they will do a good job in translating this series, or any other series at that.

The way they're sending the C&D orders, I'm wondering how many translators are working at Hachette. To license all these in such a short period of time is probably going to be overkill for them. I'm also wondering if the sales are enough for them to break even at least.

"All I've got to do is pick up the ball and throw it to first base. Now who's got it?"

"Naturally."

"Naturally?"

"Naturally."

"So I pick up the ball and throw it to Naturally."

"No you don't you throw it to Who!"

"Naturally."

Looks like they're just playing with names too...?

Heck.. I registered and posted just so I could cry about missing out on making a copy of Bungaku Shoujo. I tend to stay way from posting/creating accounts on forums.. too much arguing happens between fans. The result is I rarely read them either.

I was at work all day and just missed it and when I came home all I did was check to see if a new chapter had been translated and to add salt to the wound I have spent the last few weeks fruitless searching for a pdf copy.. this will be my last hail mary.*Hint*Hint*

I am glad others feel that the Hachette/Yen title is a bad translation for the title.. even though its 'technically' correct. Makes me worried about how the rest of the novel will be translated.

Personally... I don't really think its technically correct to begin with...

Translating Bungaku to Book is wrong if you ask me, Bungaku is way more cultured, and artistic... Its not some plain old fairytail or folklore, its LITERATURE!!

wow, just looked at the summary for the first volume on Yen Press' website. First time I've ever heard of a book goblin. sounds really... unfitting. And yes, a suicidal mr.mime and a book girl is just as unfitting. :|

Here is the actual thing from yenpress...
Spoiler! :
For Tohko Amano, a third-year high school student and self-styled “book girl,” being the head of the literary club is more than just an extracurricular activity. It’s her bread and butter…literally! Tohko is actually a literature-gobbling demon, who can be found at all hours of the day munching on torn out pages from all kinds of books. But for Tohko, the real delicacies are hand-written stories. To satisfy her gourmet tastes, she’s employed (rather, browbeaten) one Konoha Inoue, who scribbles away each day after school to satisfy Tohko’s appetite. But when another student comes knocking on the literary club door for advice on writing love letters, will Touko discover a new kind of delicacy?
I believe you saw book gobbling, its not book goblin... book gobbling means book eating...

"Tohko is actually a literature-gobbling demon"

<sarcasm>Truly an imaginative and artistic way of putting it indeed. I shall bow down to your greatness~</sarcasm>

>.>

So if I follow their "style", Kisaragi Chihaya would be a "mind-screwed banshee"? They should be proud of themselves for being so capable of embarassing their own selves. -.-;

So... Chihaya is a "mind-screwed banshee"... you learn something new everyday...

Anyways, the chinese version of the first volume did not say anything about her unique trait in the summary, why cant they stick to that? or did they have it in the japanese one?
