Volume 2, chapter 1

I plan on starting volume 2 tomorrow, if there are no objections. I don't promise anything, but I think the worst that can happen is that someone erases my work and does a better job. I'll admit that when I first looked at the text I was like "what?" But I slept on it, and I think I understand it now.

If anyone thinks I am slowing them down I will be happy to cede the chapter to them. I will be very slow, after all. But, unless there are objections, I plan on registering for chapter 1 of volume 2.

I have a lot of questions, and I think I might need a lot of help. I've been reading the forums for the last few days and that has made me think that the help I need will be forthcoming. I expect that I will violate the baka norms more than once- I am still ignorant of them. I ask your forgiveness in advance.

But I have begun work on S+W Vol 2:

"The low rocky hills went on endlessly, almost barren of grass and trees. The road wound between the hills so that in

many places it was too narrow for more than one cart to pass at a time."

I hope that whets your appetite for more S+W, and I hope that I can bring it to you, no matter how erratically Horo's road might twist and turn;). I apologize in advance for all of the things I am certain to do wrong.

EDIT: I really could use some help with the wiki.. I don't think I should make those pages.

Whoever can/want to will help you out wherever possible. Just that different people will be binded by different restaints and time limitations. But you should still be able to get the help you need.

Yeah- if we get to a point where it makes more sense for you to take over I won't object. I have to admit that I care not a fig for the community, but I do care about making good translations. That might be the same thing, come to think of it. Anyway...

What should I do now? Should I start making wiki pages?.

And if I want help, should I post in this thread, or should I start a new thread for every question? I will have a lot of questions.

Or if you really want to focus our attention, make one thread called "Duncan's queries" and post everything there maybe?
Do try to find the answers yourself first. The internet has plenty of answers.

You can start making wiki pages if you want, take your time, translate, and upload them. That is basically what i usually do.

i second with what shadow says. if you are the type that likes to leave his rough work all over the wiki, then you might want to post your drafts up on the discussion page instead of the main page. gives a bit more freedom, in case you prefer to leave it on the wiki rather than keeping it yourself.

make one that corresponds with your chapter i guess (i think you can already follow the red link from the s&w main page). queries can also go into the discussion section, though really forums are best for asking (you can try the animesuki forums also @ http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=1969046, that's where judgment is more frequently found).

that's all i can do to help for now. haha. don't worry i don't think it'll ever be more sensible for me to take over someone who's passionate in his work. heheh.

well, it good that you finally decided to start translating.
since this is a V2c1 thread, then you can post questions here, or in the Lingua threads as SZH suggested, or even at the AS forums (but be sure to use spoiler tags there ^_^)

about wiki-using. You can just write everything to word or smth like that, and send the file to one of us, we'll put it up, and check for mistakes at the same time. Or you can learn yourself how to upload the text to the wiki, it's not dificult at all.
So it's your pick at everything you do, but remember that you're not alone here ^_^

You can post any questions you have here or at any other forum in which we are present (like barbs said, I'm a bit more active in the A-S forum). If you're having trouble translating a particular part, although I can't read Japanese, with a bit of help I should be able to locate the corresponding part in the Chinese text, and do a translation of that for your reference.
