Hi there, I'm almost done with chap1 of Dantalian no Shoka but need some help with a few terms.
I know the meanings, but need appropriate english terms.

1. ダンタリアンの書架
Literally: "Dantalian's Bookshelf(s)"
Meaning: Stands for the Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian within Dalian.
Note: Will later also be of importance for the "Bibliotheca Razielis Archangeli"
Suggestion: Bibliotheca of Dantalian

2. 読み姫(よみひめ)
Literally: "Reading Princess"
Meaning: Dalian's role as the "caretaker" of the Bibliotheca.
Suggestion: Book Princess, Biblioprincess

3. 鍵守(かぎもり)
Literally: "Key Protector"
Meaning: Hughy's role as the "guardman" of the Bibliotheca.
Suggestion: Key Warder?

4. 焚書官(ふんしょかん)
Meaning: The book burning clerks~
Suggestion: Book Burner

5. I ask of thee, art thou mankind?
-> correct english? He asks whether the Yomihime belongs to mankind.

6. No, I am the Realm -- the endless Realm within the Vase.
-> How can we make this sound cool and archaic?

Thanks and, well, in some regions it might still be christmas, so merry christmas!

1. I'm more for keeping the Latin term "Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian", which is literally "Mystical Library of Dantalian" or "Dantalian's Mystical Library".

3. Guardian (of/to) the Keys? Key Warden? Or just Warden?

4. Book Burning Office? Book Burning Official?

6. Go with the royal "We"? Like "We art the Realm -- the Endless Realm within thine Vase"

1. Mhh, not a bad idea; considering it's related to what's now called Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

3. I like the "Key Warden".

4. Hm.. I think I'll go with this for now. Although I don't know yet how they're organized.

6. Good idea. But can we say 'art" for the 1st Person Plural?

Thanks for the input. :D

Would using a latin translation of the 'reading princess' sound better? The two english translations sound a little too plain next to Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian o_O

I guess I just don't like the sound of it. But for now I'll use "Reading Princess" since that's still better than to leave it Romaji.
