Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
Ah right - that would also match the chronology Volume 8 Short Stories right after Volume 4 (Interludes = Zuellni Short Stories?) - thought that
But they are complete as they are now? (Thought the Interlude is a little short )
Spoiler! :
Please don't mind my bad english since I'm german.

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
no problem, Darklor.
If anyone knows Chinese and/or Japanese, please take a look at this:
“莺叫了呢”
“呃?”
沒有聽過的名字讓艾爾雪拉回過頭來,古蓮丹卻張開口,打了個大哈欠,沈默了。
「……鶯《うぐいす》が鳴いたな」
「え?」
聞いたことのない名前にアルシェイラがたずね返したが、グレンダンは口を開かず、大きくあくびして黙《だま》り込んだ。
What I'm puzzled about is whether 鶯 is 鶯 as in Nightingale the bird, or 鶯 as a person. I'm assuming from Alsheyra's reaction that 鶯 is a person, else why the significance of putting it there? But it can just be an artistic moment of the ending of Vol 5. Does the raw in Jap give a clue? (can't read Jap here)
thanks.

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
The kanji you're referring to can mean two things:
1. A nightingale (a bird, though it might be an embodiment ('fairy', if i recall right?) of Alsheyra's city?)
2. Someone with a beautiful voice (anyone who's good at singing?)
Too bad that statement alone gives little clue on what 'nightingale' are they talking about ...

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
As mentioned, the term should be a name.“莺叫了呢”
“呃?”
沒有聽過的名字讓艾爾雪拉回過頭來,古蓮丹卻張開口,打了個大哈欠,沈默了。
By chinese translation. This is not the best translation, but you get the idea i believe? So it is to put it into better English. At the same time, though it is likely to be a name, but it may also be that 艾爾雪拉 has never heard of the term "nightale" so we cant really tell."莺 cried(out)"
"Huh?"
艾爾雪拉 turned around in reaction to the name that he/she has never heard of before, but 古蓮丹 opens his/her mouth, makes a big yawn, and remains silent.

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
Maybe you need more text as an example? Or is it the only time 莺/鶯 does appear? (Its funny how you can see the similarities of both signs even if they are different...)

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
yeah, that's the first time I've come across this term in all 5 volumes.
thanks for the help, guys. The second opinion helps a lot. I'll assume it is a person/being and put in the Romanji of 鶯 instead of "Nightingale".

Re: Chrome Shelled Regios
Chapter 2 of Volume 4 is finished?
There could be a sentence a miss: Gu01:05, 7 November 2009 (UTC) or maybe it was only a Gu---~~~~?

The string "~~~~" has a special meaning to most wiki sites. If the original text has been using that, try enclosing them with <nowiki> tags to prevent them from being replaced.

yeah, that probably what happened. seen it on other projects as well. I swear it's a conspiracy to foil us, I mean why do Japanese authors love using the wave symbol and exactly four, not three, or five, but four?!
