Poll: To Aru Majutsu no Index Chapter Titles

With the recent edit battle that's going on. I wonder if either one of you can edit the 'TAMnI Terminology thread' such that it has a poll down there? (Since I have absolutely no idea how to do a poll)

Q: What format do you want the titles on the main page to follow?

The 5 options are:

1) Author's English only (eg: FAIR,_Occasionally_GIRL.)
2) Original LN titles (eg: イギリス清教　Anglican_Church.)
3) Translated LN titles + Author's English (eg: Begin Action — The_Page_is_Opened.)
4) Romanised version + Author's English (eg: Kōdō Kaishi. The_Page_is_Opened.)
5) Chapter 1, chapter 2, blah blah blah.

I created it as a new thread in case we need additional polls for other problems. Also added a sixth option.

Poll will be open for now for 90 days. Other suggestions can be discussed too. Revote should be possible. 1 Vote per user.

Also I still wonder if the underlines shall remain as they are in the origin version? Or should they be changed to spaces in the translation?

Also I did let the first choice in the poll because those is slightly different as the last one

A please could an admin repair that? Or describe how it could be done onself?

I voted 3 but I would it like if the "subtitles" were not with underlines but rather with spaces since I think it looks awkward with those underlines.

But the underlines are in the original text: shouldn't we try to preserve the authors original styling as much as possible, as long as it is still comprehensible by those without knowledge of japanese?

I've voted for original chapter titles as in Japanese volumes - translaters may differ in translating the titles, and I think we can post those on the chapter pages instead. And if people disagree in chapter names they can do it there and not on the main page.

Also, I think we should keep the underscores in the author's English, as it's always a good idea to have the original. Again, is this needs to be changed it can be done on the chapter pages right?

Generally the main translator of the chapter should get to choose the title without dispute, like Joay (since he actually translates them). Though I would disagree with some of the titles, like the ones Wilfriback added for volume 15 and 16, but since regretfully no one has been checking my probably bad translations, I don't have much room to talk.

The idea of having the Japanese title and the English title is a fine concept, but as this is a translation project, I do feel the need to incline toward the translated versions. Though I also see your point that there could be an edit fight about a chapter translation, especially if the chapter in question doesn't actually have a linked page yet to discuss it on, not to mention it could be difficult to get the other party to actually notice it if it did since not everyone watches every page possible.

And for the last part of this wordy post, I'd just like to say I'd rather have double-spaces between the first and second titles, not the em dash.

I agree with basically everything Flere said except I believe we should forgo the titles all together. They're simply too long and make the titles stretch out too far, not to mention they're unneeded as they chapters' English titles suffice. It would be different if someone could think of a way to format the titles better, but since no one has, I simply can't agree with it. I mean, look at the front page of the project now, can you honestly tell me that looks neat? No one will even want to read the chapter titles because it's an eye strain with the text that long and mushed together. Basically, if someone can show me a better looking format I'd happily go along with including both the Japanese titles and English titles, but until then I think it's just a better idea to leave it as it was, which was perfectly fine.

But I think also as long as the chapter (title) isnt translated the japanese original title should be kept! - instaed a "(?)"
