well, (soon) we will have 2 swords in the story... it might be possible for dual in the future (and I was hoping)
still, if it is already 2 years in the UW, hopefully Kirito hasn't forget his dual skill and his instinct in battle since usually instinct becomes dull...

Being him that's highly unlikely since he has an uncanny habit of landing into troubles all the time :D

Then again... it might turn into something different I mean first it was a unique skill Duel Blade... then it was turned to just two swords using skills so he called it skill connect >.>;; i won't be surprised at all if he came up with something new again

Well skill connect is just a way to start a skill a little bit before the previous ended with the other sword in order to not eat the delay after a sword skill... Since Underworld allows sword skills, he will do dual wield with that if dual skills aren't here !

at least, since this world is different from ALO, I hope the world still have the dual sword unique skill (unique skills in ALO are deleted)

In any case... as long as I get to see Starburst Stream again I'll be happy...

Considering the hit-count restriction, it doesn't seem like the divine weapons(level 40ish) would be high enough to allow Starburst Stream, let alone Total Eclipse. I'd rather see Kirito pull those moves off without skill assist, something to go with his inner conflict of the difference between Kirito and Kirigaya Kazuto.

Yeah. If he's still finding himself capped at 2-5 hit combos, he's not going to be pulling off much dual wielding right away. He might even have trouble getting skill connect to work well with combos that short.

Also, if the unique skills were left in for Underworld, he'd have to once again be the fastest 'player', and would probably need to get his level back up to the mid 70s to unlock it. I think it's more likely that he'd be forcing it through Imagination rather than through officially supported system assist. He has the advantages of knowing it was possible in another game, and having personally used it.

I want to see the natives react to him using longer combos though. Since 2-hit combos are already in the realm of closely guarded secret techniques...

Lots of potential there, especially if he stays in Underworld much longer. And I'd expect he'd have to stay in at least a few more days (real life time) to heal more of his brain, so that's a few thousand more days in Underworld time. As of his presently accessible memories, he's already lived for years full time as Kirito, with two years in between SAO and Underworld where he was Kirito part-time. That is a huge, huge chunk of his personal identity. And he was already having some level of real life identity crisis before SAO.

(my first try posting this just dumped me to page 1 of the thread; retrying again. hopefully it was just a reply timeout or something and won't end up being a double post)

I think his hit count would increase once they actually make a weapon from the branch he got from the big tree , he said something about feeling weird using the Rose sword.

Rina was using a whip and a sword at the same time , so it might be even possible for a Duel Wielder to exist already somewhere along the elites or Integrity Knights.

I'm very interested in seeing exactly where the Kirito / Kazuto issue would lead , I mean most of his friends call him Kirito in real life even.
Sadly I think though he will never be able to use proper sword skills without system assist unless he trains them for a few years.
UW stat system doesn't seems to allow improvement in speed , only some kind of strength and ability to use better sword skills over time.

Than again , he always does seem to invent some Outside the System skills so I'm sure he'll surprise me again :)

Pretty much all of his friends in real life knew him first as Kirito in game so calling him Kazuto would feel weird to both them and him lol. The only friend I can think of for Kirito in real life that he had beforehand was his cousin Suguha. In fact for the most part I think the only one that ever gets called be their real life name when they all meet up is Asuna and that is cause she had her game name be her real life name so it's not weird to call her by it lol. Though Kirito is a shortened form of Kazuto's full name so it works quite fine as being a nickname for him.

I mean, even when the author mentions the other characters from SAO, they mention their IGN along with their real name like Lisbeth/Shinozaki Rika. Truth be told, i wont be able to tell who they are at first glance at their real names either other than Kazuto.

Eh this is a little off point but how much does "There is but one ultimate way" spoil the Alicization story? It's been tormenting me whether to read it for almost a year now ahaha :D

I caved a couple weeks ago.
Without getting too specific, there's the one obvious giveaway: the presence or absence of characters in it tells you whether some lived or died, and some other stuff about their status.

I think rare flowers would make a more romantic gifts than rare sword skills.
