Hi, working on the Red-nosed Reindeer part of Volume 2, I reverse-transliterated a couple of names from the Chinese raw into Japanese kanji before changing it to English.
But I don't have the Japanese source, so it would be helpful if somebody who does could tell me whether I transliterated the names correctly.

Sachi - The girl that Kirito comforts every night. Her name is "幸" in the Chinese. With the meaning of "lucky" or "happiness", I also considered Yuki as a possible candidate. Which is correct?

Keita - The leader of the guild Black Cats of the Full Moon. His name is "启太" in the Chinese. This can also be directly pronounced as Japanese kanji as Keita, so I simply left it as that.

It's Sachi and Keita.
I don't believe there's any official kanji version of their names; they were both written in katakana.

As far as I know, there is no way that you can wrote Kayta using japanese, so it is Keita

Keita/Kayta really is a guy if I understand it correctly.
Which means either Sharramon or Korean translators screwed it up.

Haven't read the story at all, but how does this line in any way prove that the character is a male?

Well google translates that line as "he was a good leader" where it uses 奴 as "he" or "guy"

But I believe 奴 can also be translated as "person" or "fellow"

So the same line can be something like "that person was a good leader"

Though my Japanese isn't exactly the best, it feels like 奴 isn't a term we can use to define someone's gender

奴 here takes the second meaning, showing just the casual nature of the line, the superior hierarchy of the speaker, and the close relationship between the speaker and the target person. A literal reading of the entry shows that there is no gender implication at all for all possible meanings of 奴.

Koujien, the authority for the Japanese language, also shows the same meanings for 奴 even though it uses archaic text as examples instead.


EDIT: Saw the raw paragraph after I have submitted this reply. The keyword is 男 instead of 奴. Yes base on that we can conclude that Keita is a male, unless the story specifies otherwise.

Well, I believe Doraneko is right. Additionally, Keita is referred to in the Chinese as "他", which indicates that he is a guy. Here's the full sentence, found in Vol. 2, Part 2.

Anyways, thanks for all the help. I will continue to use Sachi and Keita respectively for their names, then, as that seems to be the consensus.
