What little I remember of Chinese says "他" can be both male and gender neutral. They use it as "it" as well

My relatives in Hong Kong seems to agree too

That is true to a certain extent for older texts. But modern usage specifically requires the use of feminine pronoun of "她" as "she" and the neuter pronoun of "它" as "it".

The gender neutral characteristic of "他" has degenerated to only for describing a random person of unknown sex, such as a third-party consumer in template contracts.

LOL sadly speaking Hongkongers suck at languages in general - including both Chinese and English  . The only thing they are good at is their local dialect of Cantonese. This comes from someone who has been stuck at its pathetic education system for almost 20 years.

"它" is rarely used, BTW. Ususally, the texts use simply the object itself as a subject. Also, very often the subject is ommitted, especially in speaking. (Though I speak like a true Beijing-native.)

There seems to be an inconsistency in the gender of Argo. In volume 2, chapter 4, Argo is considered to be male, while in Aria in the Starless Night, Argo is female. Which one is it?

We didn't know Argo's gender so thought was male till Aria came out. Now we can probably switch Argo to she.

What's the name of the shooting contest in GGO?
"Bullet of Bullets" (Black Cats' and Teh_Ping's translation) or "Ballet of Bullets" (KR's translation)?

From the original katakana writing "baretto obu barettsu" it could be either. I think "Ballet" is much better.

Problem is that volume 6 itself did note 'Bullet of Bullets' in English.

I think we'll have to wait for the anime to really know that since they might actually be spelling it out
