Yeah I was wondering, is this the end of the Anime?
Certainly hope not, even though I like the LN you folks make available in english here better. There is never enough SAO

What was it he mumbled? According to the LN it was a name and he was 'downcast' while whispering so I'd go with Sachi.

I get the feeling that we can find out what he actually said if we get the bluray....

Re: SAO Anime Discussion Thread
it should be a name right?
then I'm betting on Sachi or something along the lines of, "I will see how this seed change the world, Heathcliff"

It's too long to be Sachi.
My guess it's "Akihiko Kayaba".

Yui was smiling , so I'm going with something like "I'm finally home" kind of line
Was a good episode , here's hoping for another season!

No it was a name as was stated at the end of v4 of the novel.Sludge wrote:Yui was smiling , so I'm going with something like "I'm finally home" kind of line

But there's no reason for him to be downcast (quote from the LN) while saying that.gn_x00 wrote:it should be a name right?

Re: SAO Anime Discussion Thread
Anime subtly changed the narrative a few times - like letting Klein and Thinker in about the Seed, which I'm pretty sure didn't happen in the Light Novel, and there weren't any nurses in the final episode. I wouldn't put it past them to change this part too.Gohankuten wrote:No it was a name as was stated at the end of v4 of the novel.
And like someone else pointed out, what Kirito said really was way too long. Sachi's name is two syllables, maybe one second long. Kirito's mouth opened and closed, what, five times?
I throw my lot in with "Kayaba Akihiko". Or maybe something along the lines of "This time, I'll succeed."

Re: SAO Anime Discussion Thread
Well, since the novel itself doesn't give the exact dialogue, the anime can only take a wild guess at how much mouth movement to draw.
IMO, the context of the scene (and the episode, and that chapter of the novel) pretty much demands that his words were a reference to Sachi. The nightmare is finally over. The Black Swordsman's mission has finally ended. Kirito finally knows (mostly) what was up with Kayaba. He rejects Suguha's fears of an insurmountable barrier of shared experience between her and the veterans. Old survivors and new friends are heading out to conquer the castle for real.
Among all that closure, it makes sense that he can finally let go of that last lingering guilt about Sachi, smile, and move on. In the later books, he never angsts about that particular incident again. (Other stuff yes, but not Sachi).

I am more surprised that they put Argo in the picture at the end of ep 25. Since she didn't even appear once in the anime?

Well, I found this out today.
There's another unexpected character in that endcard.
Making up a total of 20 characters (including Pina).
