Post any errors you cannot fix yourself here, or post passages unclear in the translation for someone with RAW-access to explain them.

This thread is supposed to collect all those problems because watching the Talk pages for all chapters is quite challenging by now.

Hi..
Assumed there is no need for spoiler tag as since this is error reporting, there is bound to be spoiler in the first place. Please inform me to change this if necessary.

I have a question here... For Volume 12, Chapter 7 Part 4:
"Well, he noticed that at some point in time even he himself felt a strange rumor was being stealthily passed around Tokyo..."

From the Japanese novel, i have... It goes like "まあ、いつ入手下かも定かでない灰色のサンタ衣装などを発見して、くびをかしげたりするエピソードがひそかに東京のあちこちで流行するのだが。。。。。”
In this, shouldn't it be something like "Well, however, there are many head-tilting(or doubtful) events spreading silently in tokyo with regards to grey-suited santa products that are unable to be traced to their acquisition."

And wasn't Shizuka middle school year 3? or At least thats what written in the the jap book. Question from "From the looks of it, compared to Shizuka who was in her second year at high school, Fuyuhime clearly looked much younger even though she was in her first year of college."

Sorry, if my translation was bad.

The author does make minor inconsistencies in numbers, such as calling a 300m ship 15 tons (instead of 15 thousand), or prevaricating between 20 or 12 years ago when Paolo Blandelli battled the Black Prince's forces. Or Alec's fight against Minos, a sequence of distances that is not strictly decreasing: 五センチ(5cm), 一センチ(1cm), 二〇ミリ(20mm), 五ミリ(5mm), 一ミリ(1mm).

Easily fixed and nothing fatal.

Anyway, it's quite well established in earlier volumes that Shizuka is in third year middle school. (Volume 1 explicitly states she is one year younger than Godou.)

I found another controversy in Volume 8 Chapter 1 Part 2:

"While looking at the proud Sakura, Godou remembered. When Erica and the others used magic, their incantations (the girls called them mantra or spell words) were quite suitable." Instead of suitable, it should be random.

The word used in the Japanese "適当" has two meanings, proper/suitable and random/noncommittal. Due to the fact that I have heard anime used the latter meaning more often, I sensed weirdness when reading it due to Sakura's previous sentence and Godou implied confirmation towards Sakura's statement.
What she said was " what's really important isn't the incantation or whatever, but the spirit you put into it, and clearly understanding what kind of magic you want to use".
Using that as reasoning, the word meaning of proper/suitable would be wrong in this context as Godou should be confirming what Sakura is saying by remembering Erica and others' random way of incantations.

Of course, the random might not be a good use of words in this context, but at most the general meaning I wish to bring across.

Please do correct me if i am wrong. Thank you.

Duhhh... "noncommittal" should work better, I think? From what I remember, the incantations suit combat magic but they have few details as to what they exactly do...?

Well, I am not really sure about that.. I am only concerned of the context of sentence.. as it sounds weird..

As Sakura is supposed to say that incantation is not important, Godou then confirmed it by remembering the incantations of his harem which most likely coincides with Sakura's statement.

But, I also know what you meant though... :( ... Now i am even more confused the current context...
It just makes me uncomfortable when there is something not clear with regards the meaning... :P ..Troublesome personality of mine...

Anyway, though we don't need to go to such details, my current view on it is that the sentence that is currently used will result in a non-linking statement that create weirdness in the passage if the word suitable is still used here. That's my take on this.. :D

Hope you understand where I am coming from though..

Take your pick from the dictionary for 適当:
noncommittal, vague, equivocal, tepid, half-hearted, lukewarm.

Just for reference, the Chinese official translation had 随口念念而已 which would be translated as "[they] simply mouthed the words casually."

Randomly, on the other hand, would be a bit too loose in meaning.

I dunno, I think the more "positive" translations also fit the context as well. He could be mentally commenting on the fact that the girl's baroque quotes and chants are actually "appropriate" or "suitable" to the grandiose effect that they have. (Though you have to wonder how such a weird combination of 'positive' and 'negative' connotations have gotten attached to the same word. :? )

It's because I understand 'that' that it feels weird.. Leaving it feels correct after understanding it through a different angle but ...
then if you forget about it and when you reread the series again, you will revert to your usual reading and understanding methods.. total lolness...

Then it continues on and on and on and ...... Boy, its so annoying to have words used in different context and having exact opposite meanings.. :P

Well, at least my point was brought across so I think it just depend on whether you people deem it as necessary to change... Though it is said that the public can change as deem fit but I do think it's better for the translation team to make the decision as the entire thing is mostly the team's effort after all, (excluding spelling mistakes and other minor stuff, of course)

Especially Since I am not the only one reading... lol..

"But the apology just now really sounded like an unfaithful husband desperately apologizing to the wife. No, perhaps indeed the situation is the same."

I found a weird quote in Volume 13 Part 4 where Amakasu is commenting on Yuri's apology towards Amakasu's troubles for the aftermath.
From the Japanese novel, the quote was "だけど今の謝罪っプリ、ダメ亭主の不始末を必死にあやまる奥さんみたいですね。いや、状況はまさにおなじかもしれませんが。"

My inexperienced translation would result in "But the act of apology just now seems like a wife apologizing due to the husband's misconduct. Well, this might be just the case."

Well, you can leave the second sentence aside... The current one results in a weird situation of Amakasu being the wife while Yuri, the husband.. lol

Please verify. Thanks :)

EDIT:
"Hearing unexpected news, Godou stared with his wide open."
Corrected by adding "eyes" to the sentence.
You might want to verify this as well, just in case.

Good catch.

Just another example of the gross inaccuracies in some of the Chinese fan translations.
