Re: Hidan no Aria [Aria the Scarlet Ammo]
My parents aren't supportive of my translating; the past few translations were done from around 3:00 - 5:00 AM in an attempt to circumvent attention, but then my laptop was taken.
tl;dr I don't know when I'll translate, if ever. Don't get your hopes up.

Aren't they going too overboard by taking your laptop?YoakeNoHikari wrote:My parents aren't supportive of my translating; the past few translations were done from around 3:00 - 5:00 AM in an attempt to circumvent attention, but then my laptop was taken.

Awww.. that's so unfair!! Why don't your parents approve? Translating doesn't seem so bad. Having a hobby is alright... ='[

Ah I can sympathize with you there. Parents blew a fuse when I was type setting fansubs...shudder...Dont feel too guilty about not translating for us. The relationship with your parents is more important.YoakeNoHikari wrote:My parents aren't supportive of my translating; the past few translations were done from around 3:00 - 5:00 AM in an attempt to circumvent attention, but then my laptop was taken.

Agreed. I also had quarrel before with my parents regarding my anime/manga/LN hobby. Fortunately they never take away my laptop, and they finally understand (note that it took yearsfalcolobo wrote:Ah I can sympathize with you there. And here I thought my parents is very stubborn...

Wish ya good luck, Hikari. ^^ Hope that the situation gets better for you.
Parents still don't know I am into anime and stuffs, now that I think of it. They have hints, but didn't go to the conclusion yet.

Re: Hidan no Aria [Aria the Scarlet Ammo]
Wow! I'm surprised. I don't understand why parents have such a hard time about these things. Maybe I'm just way too open-minded.
I guess I should add to that for a small explaination. I'm a dad myself, my daughter's 14yo. More than likely she got her hobbies from me, like anime, manga, FPS games and MMOs.
Sometimes I wonder if all I did was lead her astray.
I work on fansubs too when I have time, so can can kinda see where falcolobo's issues can come into play since typesetting is just as time consuming as TL'ing. But with TL'ing light novels it can be a bit easier to conceal since having it on a screen, visible to all, isn't necessary. School and family should take some priority or some important people or things can be lost.
So I wish all of you who need it, all possible luck with coming to terms, and hopefully, understanding about these things.
LOL, I almost forgot why I popped into the HnA forum. Volume 13 will be released August 24. And if you wanna buy it hunt it down with this: ISBN-13: 978-4840146821
Hit the Spoiler button for the cover. And I must say it, Jeanne definitely is cover worthy.

Well, some seiyuus like Kitamura Eri, for example, has Otaku parents, and from her Mom's influence, today, she's a successful seiyuu. It really depends how you see your hobby as, art? a cultural activity? or a distraction? or something perved? Of course, it's easy for me to just talk though LOL.fallton13 wrote:Wow! I'm surprised.
