It is the future, and I get the idea that Tatsuya would do his own test on his own equipment. I could be wrong though.

I'm sorry i'm repeating things but didn't we estabilish that Tatsuya's equipment has nothing to do with DNA?
i think it was in this tread too.
anyway i think he could have done a proper DNA test without the Yotsuba knowing.
The quantity and quality does not matter... make it big, and make plenty of it.

he doesn't have That kind of equipment, and in FLT, no one would be interested in having that.
He has equipment for CAD and CAD only...

Way out of left field. I did not say he would use the equipment in his lab. I said he would use his own equipment (that isn't CAD related), so he could verify the results without having it tampered with by the Yotsuba. Tatsuya has enough money (and knowledge) to buy the equipment, or the materials to build it himself.

Do you really think he would do that for one and only one use.... Seems quite unlikely.

If Tatsuya and Miyuki thought it was important enough, yes!

If they don't trust the Yatsuba to give them the true result, yes!

If they don't trust a third party to not be influenced by the Yatsuba, yes!

Plus, to verify the results properly and make sure there where no errors, taking multiple samples and testing over time would probably be a good idea.

So, yes!

Simply thinking, I am finding this foolish.

Other thing, when Miyuki thought of thoses tests, she didn't said that the one conducting them was her Onii-sama. And if her DNA were to be known, the result of the research of the 4th Lab would become known....... and , if he was doing this, the Yotsuba would be quite outraged of his thinking.

Miyuki didn't say a lot of things. That's why I think it is more likely that Tatsuya (if he did it) did it himself. Yes, we do have a lot of speculation here because the Author still hasn't given us enough info. And doing it himself keeps the Yatsuba from having a conniption, if they don't already own the DNA testing labs themselves.

Also, what for? Assuming they were not really brother and sister, what advantage could the Yotsuba gain from them seeing themselves as siblings? The idea isn't impossible, but I just can't see a reason for the whole charade if that was the case.

I would like to point out that the Yotsuba would have needed to plan more than six years in advance if they were going to trick Tatsuya into thinking they're siblings, witch I personally don't agree with. I think they're siblings, not some frabrication of some Yotsuba plot.

Ok, I have a new theory (sorry, but no incest).

Tatsuya ends up with the entity inside Pixie. Well not really ends up with. He merges with it, and the synergistic entity that it becomes ascends to a higher level of reality, the place where Pixie originally came from. Too bad girls.

I see no point in Tatsuya being interested in minor stuff such as DNA testing. Miyuki might be interested, but for Tatsuya whose only remaining emotion is deep love (sorry guys, but no its not the romantic type(go MayuxTat ship)) for a single person, namely Miyuki, I am pretty sure he wouldn't care even if they weren't real siblings in the first place. So I don't think he will even consider doing it.

But, on the other side of the coin, if he really wanted to I'm pretty sure he can always use the 101. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't. Nor could I see any reason for both Kazama and Co. nor Miyuki to say no. And its very unlikely that information will leak to the Yotsuba as well.

Just my two cents.

I was just thinking after reading all this.

In the summer vacation chapter Tatsuya said something along the lines of you can't fix what was never broken, or regain something that was never lost since it was never there to begin with. (He's talking about his extreme feelings such as romantic love towards Honoka).

So currently as I understand, he is only able to feel strong brotherly love because of the operations done to his brain. However, as I was thinking about his birthday in chapter 12, wasn't he charmed by Miyuki in her dress? Which led to me wondering, is it 100% impossible for him to develop romantic feelings? I know he can't fix them or find them again, but does that mean he can't develop them?

In volume 1, chapter 3:

With her head partially lowered with a pair of upturned, almond-shaped eyes, and in addition to that, a faint, sweet scent drifting toward him, Tatsuya became conscious of his own sexual excitement.
In the instant he was conscious of it, to the object called 'himself', it became a phenomenon born from inside of him, which was then severed from himself. His excitement was converted to mere information inside of him.

I think that's just the first of many occasions where he has emotions that he claims he can't have, at least for brief intervals. It seems clear to me that Tatsuya has low self-esteem in many areas, and isn't a very reliable judge of his own character. I think there are blocks in place, but I think some of them are of his own making. I have no doubt whatsoever that he's capable of a wide emotional palette.
