Aww, wish I am a superhuman so I could translate many novels at the same time. Reality is too cruel.

Coffin Princess Chaika (Hitsugime no Chaika)
Spoiler! :
Chaika is the daughter of the tyrant emperor, also the greatest mage ever. However, as the emperor was murdered by a bunch of people, the daughter escaped, and these people thus became the heroes.

Chaika, as the daughter, seeks to find the different parts of her father's body and to give him a proper burial and funeral etc... But unknown to most, the body parts of her father were kept by the heroes, as the body of the father crystallized due to his great magical powers, and became the greatest medium possible for magic.

Toru Acura, on the other hand, lost his purpose of life, as the wars ended. His services, everything he lived and learnt up to this day, were all rendered useless. Upon the chance encounter with Chaika, he decided that if she can turn up a storm, and perhaps bring war back, he could find a reason to live once more! Even if the world would be thrown into chaos!

But is Chaika really who she claims to be? Why would she only appear at this time? And who is this secret helper that is helping her? There are too many mysteries, but only one way to find out, which is to move in deeper... Just where will the path lead them?

What I don't get is why people keep using "Hitsugime" when it's clearly "Hitsugi" on the cover as well as the spine of the book:

And the Japanese wiki (ひつぎのチャイカ), for that matter.

I can explain that one fairly easily. Some series when added to Mangaupdates don't have its actual spelling checked first and I assume no one ever reports it to them to change it. I'll try it and see how long that takes, if they accept the change at all. Since most people use MU, they just get the initial name in their head, even if it's wrong. One example is To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjihou, with Choudenjihou being spelled Choudenjibou, because everyone loves electromagnetic sticks.

Edit: They changed it pretty fast. I suppose no one just ever submitted a correction.

In their defence, the website url has it as "hitsugime". And you know, the people who do the most research on light novels are the ones who can't read Japanese at all.

Well if no one more qualified steps up (ie someone with more than zero JP language skills), I'll start copy pasting one together an hour from now.

EDIT: Done, at least in the most basic sense. I didn't follow whether or not those involved with the previous discussions regarding the series name came to an agreement. I just used the forum name; the page can be moved if necessary.

EDIT2: I guess it wasn't resolved... *hides under a rock*

Well, Since it's the official furigana in the published book, I edit the title from "Hitsugime" to "Hitsugi".
and edit the synopsis a little, too.

Now enjoy yourself, cramped. As I enjoy your translation well.

edit : Can't edit title of the page, changed it back then.....
