i'm thinking of reading this. i watched the anime and thought it was awesome until the ending which felt mega-rushed and thin.

where do the light novels and and anime match up?

Until Vol.5 if I'm not mistaken, at least that were I remember the last eps of the anime

The volume currently being translated is the continuation of the anime. It surprised me that the anime followed the novels so well (they only left out Keina Dorons and only added some action between the Maou and the Law of Identity personas).

As others have said, the anime was a whirlwind tour of v1 through v5 of the novel; hitting all the major plot points, but missing most of the character development. And in addition making Sai Akuto look far, far, *far* less dense then he appears in the novels.
