So how do you tell if they are really spammers? Unless we should visit those sites to tell if they seem like spammers?

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=5484

for example, i highly believe this abigninna is a spammer, but i have no proof, despite how suspicious his website is...
True. Well, I would just delete them anyway and maybe send out an e-mail, but that's just my antisocial, irresponsible side speaking. :D
Seriously though, I think most of those are spambots, judging from the difference in websites between the new registrations and the slightly older ones.

i can't block them. only sys ops, supervisors and editor rights can block them.
we need a graphics captcha.

God!!
You need not forgive me.
For those I love,
The violence brought about by sinful men
Shall now be used once more.
If you were created to save this world,
If there is a single shred of hope left for the future of mankind,
I am very sorry, but, please begone!

I think our sign-up process needs to be more secure, like something besides autoconfirming.

Otherwise, set up a bot looking for pages with the same layout.
All of these spammers just link themselves to some outside (and probably virus/spyware laden) websites, and they all look pretty similar to each other.

Also, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but how do you delete pages permanently?
So far, I'm just going to each of the spam pages and deleting everything inside.
I think it still leaves the page behind, as a 0-byte shell.
However, I see some people actually deleting websites, and I don't know how to do that...

Clearly, our captcha system needs to be upgraded.
reCaptcha anyone?

Oh yeah, requesting ability to delete pages. Permanently.
