A New Project Startup Guideline is in effect. Please go to the Wiki to view the procedure for starting a new English or Alternative Language project.

For Alternative Language translators, I highly recommend that you also introduce yourself in the appropriate Alternative Language Forum of your language. If you need help, go to the Wiki home page and look for a Supervisor that speaks your language on the Administration List.

(The old guidelines are below:)
Spoiler! :
These Guidelines apply to ALL Projects.

New Projects
If you wish to start a new (English) project, please refer to the New Project Petition Guidelines before reading this document.

This Guideline refers to the Baka-Tsuki Wiki Translation website, for further information regarding the use and protocols of the wiki format, click here.

Alternative Languages
Recently there has been an influx of foreign contributors eager to translated our English project into alternative languages.

I understand that some of the foreign translators will not be aware of the protocol here at Baka-Tsuki, thus as long as you fulfil these requirement the projects you will not have to face the consequences.

While at Baka-Tsuki we welcome all contribution to spread the word of Japanese literature fiction to all corners of this small global, there are two guidelines at the Wiki-communist state.

Guidelines

In order to have your project approved, you must do one or both of the following:

* Register on the forum and contact a member of Administration about your intention and affirm your commitment to the project.

* Publish ONE TRANSLATED CHAPTER within ONE WEEK on the wiki complete with a Main Page and a Registration Page.

In both cases you you must publish at leased ONE TRANSLATED CHAPTER in the respected language you wish to use.

My best advice is to contact a member of Administration, (we are very understanding) and you will have an unlimited time to start your project and will not be constraint by the ONE WEEK deadline.

Please remember to add your Alternative language project links to the principle English version, using the format following e.g.:

Code: Select all

The Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu* series is also available in the following languages:
*Español (Spanish)
*Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese)
*Indonesia (Indonesian)
and vice versa (Please do the same to the Alternative Language project).

* = Change the name to the desired Novel Series
^ = Change the links to the other alternative languages the project has been translated into

Finally, append the the tag:

Code: Select all

At the top of the wiki page, this is to bring the project to the attention of the Consul/Supervisor and prevent it from being deleted, further details can be found here.

Failure to comply to Wiki-communist state guidelines, will result in deletion.

I just think it would be better if you include the administration staff names here (so people don't have to look around).

Also I think you should add, that also a thread for the alternative projects is needed here in the forum.

I'd like to translate to an alternate language but when I want to send an MP to an Admin It say you can't use this feature, what must I do ?

Edit by Misogi : Sorry, I made a mistake here. Can someone move this answer here?
Either way, new users with less than 5 posts have limited functions, they're unable to send PM.

It isnt impossible, but you'll have to stick to the rules, also I think the Alternative Language section would be the right place for you in this case... ;)

Since I can't PM yet , and I didn't really find a better place to write this :? , I wanted to just tell the admins if they can make the week notice longer for me , I already did half of the first chapter and the intro , but that doesn't fully qualify as a chapter , so I would like to ask for an extention , if you guys didn't decide already to give me one :P

Hello,
We have a problem with contacting an administration. Our project (Hyouka PL - http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index ... =Hyouka_PL) was given a warning. What should we do?

Don't worry, it's normal for all new projects to have this warning.

Usually, it takes 2 months to get rid of it by an admin, but Darklor (who takes care of the Alternative Projects) is currently absent for 3 months.

I'll add your project to this list.

By the way, I propose we change a bit the rules:

1. Translation content up to 2 chapters instead of one.

And

2. Any project which has less than 2 chapters and has been inactive for the past year should be back to teaser projects.

Just so the sidebar won't grow too big lol
