Poll Moderation Guidelines

Poll Guidelines

The following guidelines are to be enforced on all polls that requires active moderation to ensure they are conducted in a fair and impartial method.

These guidelines are to inform all members of the process that will be taken by observing moderators in a poll.
  • 1# Any poll that requires action to be taken by translators or editors shall last for one month.
  • 2# If a Poll will affect B-T in a significant manner, a minimum vote count of 20 will be required. (Polls regarding single projects or suggestions are not significant.)
  • 3# The option with the highest number of the votes at the end of the time period will be declared the winner. (If the highest number of votes is below the minimum requirement in the case of #2, then the Poll deadline will be extended by one week. Again, if the quote is not reached, it will extend again, and repeat until the quote is reached. This is because it affects B-T on a large scale, and needs the minimum number of votes. This cannot be waived.)
  • 4# In the rare case of two or more winning options with the same number of votes, a 'tie-breaker' poll with only the winning choices shall be created immediately and executed with a 2 week time limit. If it is a draw again, a new poll will again be created until there is a winner, and will last for 2 weeks. This will continue until one choice has a majority.
  • 5# The cool-down period between polls of a similar nature is 2 weeks. Any polls made within this period are subject to removal by moderators. Only one poll on a particular topic is allowed at time on a first come, first served basis. (See #4 for the exception to the cool-down time period.)
  • 6# Each poll is independent of each other. Votes of a previous poll/thread shall not be counted in any way. Results of previous polls may be used for reference, but shall hold no authority of their own.
  • 7# Results will be enforced immediately. (except in the case of #4, where a new Poll will be created instead.)
  • 8# Should the results be questionable with valid points being brought forward, FIRST the poll shall be enforced at its conclusion. Then, the results will be discussed by members. Once a general consensus has been reached, and there are no objections to that consensus, an Admin shall enforce that consensus. However, if even a single objection is raised to the Admin's action, then #5 stands, and after two weeks the issue can be re-polled again.
