You know, this isn't actually a thread intended to be read by every pink newcomer... So if you wanted to make ads to your new game, I guess it's not the best place :P

PS : is "make ads" actually English? :?

There seems to be a lot of spam account created lately in the wiki. Is it possible implement some sort of captcha in the create account page to stop them from coming? Blocking each one of them is a bother after all.

I'm sure it's possible, I've found one on MediaWiki's site while doing some tutorials.

It's possible and there are a few extensions which allow to do so, but the best one is, AFAIK, ReCAPTCHA :D

To the spammers who are currently spamming some posts on the forum.

It's useless to keep posting messages, they won't pass. Get out from here.

I guess this is related to the change of the CAPTCHA method : they are now able to bypass it easily... :|

At least the spam is getting stopped by the moderators now. In the bad old days (less than a year ago) it wasn't.

Actually, could the pink limit be changed to 5 post, 10 post seems quite demanding considering how dead this forum is.

I think the 10 post number is fine actually, I mean there's a lot of people who may not even come back after posting 10+ times, so lowering the number may actually make the amount of dead users increase.

But tats my take on things, yours could be a little different, in any case, it's up to ONI or whoever to decide this matter

There's really no difference in the number of dead users, they'll just get what they want and go or give up and go away. The restriction on the PM is encouraging actions for quick post counts AKA kira-spam. The whole aim is just to prevent ad spam bots' posts from getting public, so there's no real need to limit real users till 10 post counts.

Actually that could also be a good thing.
Yeah, it's true that even 3 posts or 2 posts may be enough to make the difference between a bot and a human, but 5 would be as good a limit as 10, if you're asking me...

And so it would allow the translators who aren't really active on the forum to be able to send PM faster, which may be a good thing as-well.
